Ablett wins appeal. System is broken

Haven't seen the incident but let me paraphrase the verdict, save everyone a heap of time.

" low impact, not intentional, impact caused by the Suns player ( who will get a week for it if he apologises to Gary and says 3 Hail Marys). Alleged impact was in play and caused no harm to Suns player.

No further correspondence will be entered into. Leave Gary alone !!!!! He's just a human being like anyone else.

Amen

This is what happens when you let guys off the hook just because they're a "champion of the game" and a "ball player". They think they can do whatever they want. He needs to be suspended, like he should have been the last 2 times he hit blokes in the head. Everyone should be be judged under the rules the same, no bending the rules just for the elite.

He actually has a go with his left first and then gets him with the right. Obviously, the impact was not severe, but the action is undoubtedly there.

Ablett seems very confident he has nothing to worry about. Post game he claimed it was just clumsy and the undisciplined act only deserved a free kick. Wonder if Mr MRO heard that and gave it a nod of approval.

Aw, gee, do we really want to see the best players on the sidelines just because they deliberately break the rules of the game? This could cost someone a Brownlow! Do we really want to see a star player miss out on a Brownlow just because they repeatedly show they can't conform to the rules? What's the game coming to?

Well AFL howz about a little help with us Dees,  finding another home Base and facilities ?... within Melbourne,  that is Gill.

Trump is rightly approaching impeachment. Gill is wrongly fiddling the books, rules, interpretations, outcomes of decisions and totally adjusting any concept of an even and honourable field of play - with no impeachment.

He must be the worse example of those who sit in the Chair, and at a time in the course of the game when it is possibly most important and necessary to have integrity than ever.

When big business see $$$$$$,  morals go out th highest window...  and those important things Lose.  Morals,  Environment,  Social Health.

How may times has  3rd world countries  had they're environments screwed up for the $$$$...  prosperity of shareholders,  in other countries.... like Papua NG... like Sth-American countries and now the Amazon itself...

Lets not mention the Arctic and Ant-Arctic.

And its fully evident in VFL-AFL...  see Fitzroy Lions,  Sth-Melbourne Swans,  et al...   Fixtures  and Prime time TV.

Today there are suggestions the AFL is dealing in double standards to star players, and these players are receiving preferential treatment from the MRO and the tribunal. Ha ha ha ha ha. Thank you Paul Johnson and Andrew McMurtry of news.com.au for your insight. What gave you that idea?  The school of stating the bleeding obvious also thanks you.

Geelong will save the $10,000 by not challenging; they were going to rest him anyway.

Nonetheless, its good he was suspended, he was acting like Mr Teflon by throwing 'clumsy' punches every other week, then pouting to escape penalty.

Low impact and to be fair the GC seemed to channel Oliver's flop from last year. I feel like if that had been the first offence in the run he would've got away with it, I still feel like the reprimand system (not so much the left over points) wasn't the worst idea, two reprimands equals a suspension. He should've been gone after his second elbow.

This one he had to go, I think a week was right.

He should have been on suspended penalties for the past two recent incidents... so now he could be serving 3 or 4 matches concurrently, for this latest uncharacteristic fail.

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,
