Clearly you haven't heard Freo's song!

We are too busy looking far and wide for the best talent available down at Casey most likely.

I see you've mentioned this a couple of times in jest, but I'd note that Fritter is a good pick up, McInerney is looking good at Brisbane and Lockard has done ok from his limited opportunities so far.

Fritta isn’t setting the world on fire. Petrucelle on the other hand....

My point being that we seem to be unnessarily prioritising players from Casey when their is better talent available.

Comes across as lazy recruiting/scouting. Let’s just take whoever is on our backdoor and call it a day.

Smith - Overaged forward who keeps getting injured and isn’t best 22

Keity- Can’t make the team after 3 years, despite coming in as a mature age player who should have an immediate impact.

Wagner - Good VFL player

Lockhart - Too early to say

Fritta - Had one decent year and now wouldn’t make 22 of any other team.

Thats 0 for 5 at the moment with Casey players.

1/8 of the list is from Casey

How much of the list is from WA, NT and Tasmania combined?

You do realise Fritter has only had one year on our list?

He would definitely have made round 1 best 22 for any other clubs based upon last year.

IMO there would currently not be a senior AFL coach who wouldn't want him on their list

Why do you bother? These guys are just pathetic trolls who will continue to spit the same [censored] time and time again until someone gives them the attention they need.

When we were winning games last year Olisik was no where to been seen and went into hiding. Its only when are going through a rut is when he will come out and play his games.

Yeah I disappeared because we were winning. Nothing to do with personal things in my life or anything. Nice one genius, gold star.

Relax; it's round four in the VFL and he spent the last six weeks of 2018 out with a hamstring injury.

He did that for a bet, because he kneaded the dough.

AFL rules mean we aren't allowed to trade our first round pick this year. We have to use it at draft. Lucky it'll be a good pick so it's worth taking to draft!

I'd love to get Ed Langdon across to provide some running power and speed. He'd be perfect on a wing for us. He's put contract talks on hold until the end of the season, and we've been keen on him for years. I wonder how we'd get him across though, being that we can't trade our first rounder. Freo rightfully wouldn't take anything less, so means we'll have to give up a player or give up something to get a pick we can on-trade.

Back ourselves to improve and trade 2020 first round pick

It's Ross the Boss.   Does he need another Tall key back in the mold of  Zac Dawson ?

Maybe package OMc and Jeffy and our Rnd 2 Pick, and see if he falls, takes the goods ?

If Oliver, Brayshaw & Viney are off limits, then the player we should be looking at trading is Harmes. If we want to inject pace into this club, then we have to shed one of our mids.

Edit: His ascension as a player was the biggest surprise last year, which to me also means his value is at a high point and will probably come back down soon enough. Ross Lyon will probably be licking his lips over a tagger too.

The going price would be a 2nd round pick...

..which is what they gave up to get a premiership wingman (Brad Hill).

1st round picks are only for A grade game changers and KPP's...

Hang on rjay, you're forgetting that simple logic and Peter Bell don't go hand in hand.

You wanna trade our best hard runner, from a team that lacks hard runners...

The going price would've been a second rounder two years ago when we last had a crack at him. He'll cost a first rounder now in my opinion. He'd currently be leading Freo's best and fairest and would be All Australian on the season so far. His pace and running power both ways are currently amongst the best in the AFL. His trademark is using his pace to run opponents down from behind.

Can't remember the last time a Melbourne player ran that hard defensively for half the field!

Ed Langdon 2019 average stats:
28 disposals
4 inside 50s
4 rebound 50s
2 clearances
3 tackles
8 marks
5 score involvements
505 metres gained
disposal efficiency of 77%

For comparison sake, he's at a similar point in his career to Christian Salem, but was drafted a year later and is performing slightly better. Would you trade Salem for a second rounder?

Christian Salem 2019 average stats:
26 disposals
2 inside 50s
6 rebound 50s
1 clearance
3 tackles
4 marks
3 score involvements
464 metres gained
disposal efficiency 70%

You have to give something to get something, and i think Harmes is the most likely player to have reached his peak value out of our mids, whereas the rest have a far higher ceiling and will get better as runners. Our core inside mids can be surrounded by better runners than Harmes and they will flourish even more. Petracca is the only other player i think that has collateral, and his ceiling is far too high for the next few years before a trade is even thinkable for a player like Langdon who's more your pick 15-20 player.

And an additional point is that our first round pick should also come straight into the midfield.

That's all we would get for him...

Outs already flagged are

Maynard.  JKH.  J-Wagner.   Vandenburg (inj) Walker cat B (inj) Lewis (retired)

I feel like many others just need to be injury free.

Maintain 1st round pick and 2nd round picks; 1st around pick 4-8 likely.   2nd around pick 22-26.

Then look at 2-3 other players to bring in such as Ed Langdon, Zak Jones, Tom Cutler and look for value in a delisted free agent.

  • REPORT: Hawthorn

The final score in Saturday's game against Hawthorn was almost identical to that from their last contest three months ago. Melbourne suffered comprehensive defeats in both games, but the similarities ended there. When they met in Round 9, the Demons were resurgent, seeking to redeem themselves after a lacklustre start to the season. They approached the game with vigour and dynamism, and were highly competitive for the first three quarters, during which they were at least on par with the Hawks. In the final term, they lapsed into error and were ultimately overrun, but the final result did not accurately reflect their effort and commitment throughout the match.

  • CASEY: Box Hill

The Casey Demons ended the regular season on a positive note and gained substantial momentum leading into the finals when they knocked the Box Hill Hawks off the top of the VFL ladder in their final round clash at Casey Fields. More importantly, they moved out of a wild card position in the finals race and secured a week's rest as they leapfrogged up the ladder into fifth place with their decisive 23-point victory over the team that had been the dominant force in the competition for most of the season.
