And yet we were only 2 goals down early in the last

Not saying we will win by 10 goals tonight, but the wrist slashing and hyperbole on Land of late is both ridiculous and hilarious at the same time. Some posters need a big injection of positivity up their clacker. Life is too short to expect the worst every time.

Tigers by 90 points.

Luv it Mr. Shadow

$$$$$$ probably

Well that hasn't even been close to being an issue with the crowds we have attracted over the last few seasons.

No doubt tonight will be a little bit down on previous years, but it's not as if only 40,000 are turning up.  I'd say we will still get around 70,000.

I reckon I'll check the VLine App to see what time the next train leaves about 5 minutes into the 3rd.

I never thought I'd have to go back to the bad days where I would go to the footy and it's a good day if we lose under 10 goals. But tonight I go to this game knowing we won't win. Last year we got beaten by 46 points in the same game.

Anyway the good thing is get the game over tonight the weekend is free and by then everyone would have moved on.

But I am interested to see if Goody does anything different tonight. also would love to see some players get back into form who have been down.

Surely McDonald plays on Lynch?

thank god number 9 is out

thank god the Wagners are out

 great pity Nev is out

to avoid an epic flogging we’re going to need everything to go right

I spoke somewhere about being surprised at our selections .

Smith in instead of Keilty  surprises me again.

Not a place for a fist gamer tonight. Might ruin his career b4 he even starts. Love to see him get a decent go this year tho.

Would need  a miracle to win tonight.    I give us  a 2% chance.

Might be our best win ever if we can pull it off.  Cant believe the Tigers are paying 1.40 in the betting.   Easiest money anyone will ever make.

My most fervent wish.....that we simply don't embarrass ourselves.....any further.

Too much ??

It will be a blood bath.

Probably not the right game for terms like "blood bath" mate

so I’m going to leave at 3/4 time

Lol - I know a Pies fan who has never seen them lose doing this!

Me too WJ, and a similar result in a sporting sense will unfold tonight.

Old Dee, you were responding to WJ's Gallipoli remembrance. Any chance the "similar result" you are expecting was meant from the perspective of the Axis powers?

it's quite relaxing going into a game with zero expectations.

It's one of the advantages of being a Dees supporter for over 50 years. I don't get anywhere near as stressed about football matches as every non-Melbourne supporter I know (other than St Kilda supporters who are equally sanguine).

Have we ever lost a game on a Wednesday?

I was expecting a similar result to the Anzacs brave but in the end beaten badly.

Think the dees might surprise us all tonight... not saying that means our season will turn around (though I hope it does), but I am more confident about tonight than I was about St Kilda. This is the type of game the Melbourne of old would win.

I think that I might take a sick day from being a MFC fan for tonight. I am down with a bad case of Demon apathy and there is a significant possibility I will become worse watching the game.

Richmond with no Cotchin or Rance and Harmes on Dusty.

We have to be very hard at it for four quarters as the tigers do not stop .

I think the players are hurting and will give it everything tonight.

Can we connect with our forwards and can we defend well enough?

Time will tell, but I’m hoping like hell.

You just need some Vitamin AnB and to do your stretch exercises. Not sure what you should do with Marty Hore, though.

I know right. Puts bank term deposit interest rates to shame.

Should really be Richmond $1.10.

Any chance Richmond might be a bit knackered from Saturday night and won' have the energy to go on a 16 goal second half avalanche? If that's the case we must stay close with them at half time if we're any chance of a respectable result.

Yes I know we alos played on Saturday, but we only ran one way so should have plenty in the tank...

Much of a muchness.

Some of Demonlands posters are quite funny,   I have had a laugh   feel better already and the game has not started    but I think I will turn the telly off at 3/4 time,    as well    GO DEES !!!

The Casey Demons issued a strong statement to the remaining teams in the VFL race with a thumping 76-point victory in their Elimination Final against Williamstown. This was the sixth consecutive win for the Demons, who stormed into the finals from a long way back with scalps including two of the teams still in flag contention. Senior Coach Taylor Whitford would have been delighted with the manner in which his team opened its finals campaign with high impact after securing the lead early in the game when Jai Culley delivered a precise pass to a lead from Noah Yze, who scored his first of seven straight goals for the day. Yze kicked his second on the quarter time siren, by which time the Demons were already in control. The youngster repeated the dose in the second term as the Seagulls were reduced to mere

Narrm time isn’t a standard concept—it’s the time within the traditional lands of Narrm, the Woiwurrung name for Melbourne. Indigenous Round runs for rounds 3 and 4 and is a powerful platform to recognise the contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in sport, community, and Australian culture. This week, suburban footy returns to the infamous Victoria Park as the mighty Narrm take on the Collingwood Magpies at 1:05pm Narrm time, Sunday 31 August. Come along if you can.

The Dees demolished the Saints in a comprehensive 74-pointshellacking.  We filled our boots with percentage — now a whopping 520.7% — and sit atop the AFLW ladder. Melbourne’s game plan is on fire, and the competition is officially on notice.

  • REPORT: Collingwood

It was yet another disappointing outcome in a disappointing year, with Melbourne missing the finals for the second consecutive season. Indeed, it wasn’t even close, as the Demons' tally of seven wins was less than half the number required to rank among the top eight teams in the competition. When the dust of the game settled and supporters reflected on Melbourne's  six-point defeat at the hands of close game specialists Collingwood, Max Gawn's words about his team’s unfulfilled potential rang true … well, almost.
