Used to be a great cinema, the Ravioli. Camberwell junction, I believe. I recall negotiating it before traffic lights, when men were men and women wished they weren't.

A bit of confidence and feeling like you belong can do amazing things.

Following around the best players in the game would have helped.

And, I harp on this a bit, but he was in his 5th year on the list...

As a former rookie listed player, he has had no pressure and plenty of time to develop and be ready for his moment.

This song was written by Bruce Woodley. He's a Demons supporter. I see him in the members sometimes, now in his mid 70s. Nice bloke.

Not too many more successful than Bruce. Wrote our unofficial national anthem, wrote songs for Paul Simon, a member of the Seekers...

A podcast victim perhaps?

What were peoples  thoughts on his game?  With all of our inside mids where will he play going forward if he can hold his spot.

I thought he was ok for a kid...he had a go.

Doesn't offer much as a mid. Big body, not much else.

He was towled up by Boak, many better players have been of course.

I still see him as a defender if he's going to make it.

He got a football lesson from a very good player. He now knows what the level is. It’s up to him to do the work to get there.

I will say I haven’t seen his speed at this level. Pickett and Jackson are 18-24 months off being consistent, but they do the occasional thing that makes you know they have an X factor. Yet to see Sparrow’s unique qualities.

Tom Sparrow has fitted in nicely.  Gradually getting some centre square rotations albeit limited. He has played a good last 3 weeks since being promoted and whilst not huge possessions, he does the right things.  His goal v Kangas and again last night his lead and mark and goal v Pies were indicative of his talent.

Reminds me of a young Todd Viney in size, pace and thirst for the contest.

Really concerned to see on AFL website that he was listed as a possible Crows target.  He is ideally an inside mid but we are stacked for this role with Trac, Clarry, Gus, Viney and Harmes. Crows might try to snag him with $$ and a 3-4 year deal.

his progress looks good. I agree on the Todd Viney analogy, but it seems almost bamboozling we recruited an inside mid type after we got all the others in. If he comes good, and I think he might, where do we play him ? same may go for Jordan who Egan says is ready to step up now like Sparrow.

Agree - I worry that Sparrow might get starved for opportunities and walk.

Ultimately we might need to refocus Jason Taylor. We need pace and outside run. Look how much Langdon has added. I think we will need to evaluate after playing Dogs and Saints how we go with outside midfield pace.

He has looked a likely type an be I think he has the capacity to rotate through the flanks as well as inside mid.

Am I right in saying we got him with the pick we got back from Hogan?

So we got May, KK and Sparrow for Hogan? Pity KK hasn't made it back.

This kid needs a shout out for his finals series and emergence as a player.

A mate of mine who watched the Brisbane game compared him to Dane Swan and im starting to this comparison (player wise) particularly with his upper body strength and composure in possession. With another big pre season and more midfield time could see him take his game to another level.

He is also from the Adelaide Hills (like me!).

Super grand final performance. Contrary to many on here, I've rated Tom since his debut against Port in 2019. Thought he held his head high when most around him were crap (in that game). I reckon his trajectory is going to have him as an elite player in a couple of years, and those here wanting him traded will be made to look foolish.

Here endeth my sermon.

And to think we bid for Rhylee West.

Tom always looked like a footballer and with a baby face and what appears to be genuine excitement at playing footy, I can not but add him to my favourites.

And I get to say 'Go Yung Sparra'.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
