Farewell Jesse Hogan

Unlikely but possible. Hogan would need to get delisted first but if fit, he would be more help than a few on our list. I would welcome him back in a heartbeat if he was committed to come like Bennell was. Hogan was more stable and successful at the Dee's and he knows this. I don't think there are many clubs that would be able to help him.ย

Our forward line would function so much better withย Hogan.

Iโ€™ve come to the realisation that itย was a fluke and an anomaly that we won fromย round 22- semi finalย 2018 withย the T Mac - Weid combo.

ย

Hmmmm.

ย

Poster with 12 posts announces inside info about a player wanting to come back to Dees.

Some people don't handle isolation as well as others.

Will get worse while there are no games being played.

There was little doubt that Hogan at his best was the X factor we needed to go deep in September. Unfortunately like most things at the MFC it was not to be.

Bad timing, if true. If lists are to be reduced to 40 and eventually 35 as has been suggested, clubs are going to reduce the number of players they put on the list who are deemed to be either risky or project players. Hogan would have to be considered to be a risk given his foot and mental health issues. I wish him well, but if he's going to make an AFL comeback, I think it will only be with hisย current club.

Beg to differ. There is considerable doubt. The fact we went deep into September without him is proof. The oft repeated stats of his MFC performancesย against better teams is further proofย

Thisย isย all moot anyway,ย as the OP is trolling

Anyway Freo would ask for Luke Jackson and the answer would be NO FU&))&N WAYย

As we have plenty of time to think... if you had to - who would you prefer?

The potential of Jackson on the parkย

or

The potential of Hogan on the park

*why can't we have both Gif*

I know very little of Hoganโ€™s issues. ย What it seem,ย to a complete outsider, is that being in WA has not been good for him.

If he wanted to come back (ala Trent Croad) I would welcome him with open arms.

You blokes are drinking and/or dreaming too much understandable in current climate wish Hoges all the best but 2018 proved we didnโ€™t need him to finally make the finals or go deep it was a good trade for us he wonโ€™t be coming back move on we have the talent no excuses now sorry might be harsh we made the finals and he wonโ€™t be coming back to Melbourne

A little punctuation might help your post be understood better. From the little I can put together, I believe you are actually agreeing with my comment?????

Out of morbid curiosity, ding, what wereย some of his other monikers over the journey? Same person as Range Rover? I get all the [censored] heads mixed up.ย

There's been about 5 versions of range rover in the last 12 months, I believe

But just imagine it for a sec boys, Jesse back in our colors.

His return to the G would be epic!!!

Put him in our side right now & its a whole different ball game.ย

Jesse was playing average football in the last months before he left.

He needed a huge turnaround if he was going to be the saviour. Poor bastard.

ย

The word around Perth and in footy in general is unfortunately Hogan is representative of the "mental" health plague that is affecting players that is often more relevant to abusing substances that is being managed by clubs. ย Would like him back at the Dee's but it won't happen, Freo do need him on the field and I hope they help him get back on track.ย

  • PREVIEW: Essendon

Not long ago, the narrative surrounding Melbourne was steeped in pessimism. There was some concern among the pundits (and even some fans) that the club would arrive at the AFLโ€™s Gather Round still winless, vulnerable to a familiar adversary in the Essendon Football Club, and facing significant scrutiny from an ever-critical media on a national stage. Things have changed.

  • REPORT: Gold Coast

Steven King astutely identified the issues that had plagued the Melbourne Football Club over the past two and a half seasons when he auditioned for the newly created coaching role. The side that had claimed the 2021 premiership had become stodgy, slow-paced, and hesitant to take the initiative.ย

  • PODCAST: Gold Coast

Iโ€™ll be away for the next few weeks, so Binman will be holding the fort for our podcasts covering the Suns, Bombers and Lions matches. As a result, there will be no live podcasts during this period, and we wonโ€™t be taking calls or voicemails. Binman will still be dipping into this thread to select a few questions to answer, while also combining the long-form Stats Files podcast with the Demonland Podcast for these shows. Your questions and comments are a huge part of what makes the podcast work, so please post anything youโ€™d like to ask or say below and weโ€™ll do our best to give you a shout-out on the show. Please try to keep each post focused on one specific topic or player to make podcast preparation a little easier. If you have multiple topics youโ€™d like to raise, please put them in separate posts.
