Could someone tell me where i can find/hear the speech that Jessie would have prepared for his change of clubs. I know that he would not be compelled to make one but i think it would have been appropriate in view of the support that he has received from the Club and supporters over the last six years. It would also have been appropriate for the loyalty and faith and hope that he has been held in on this site as well. I will wait for it.......

Sorry to see you go Jesse, I just received a frame picture of Viney, Jones, Gawn and Hogan it's now useless?

Hogan is a gun. I never thought he was a forward though. Always thought he'd make a better CHB or FB. But, he doesn't strike me as the type of kid who wants to play down back. I reckon that may have been part the reason why we were keen to move him on. Either way, 6 & 23 is unders. But Jason Taylor works with whatever these muppets leave him. He will make 23 work. He is that good.

Time for him to get into the King twins ears and have them say they will move to MFC after their initial 2 year deals with other clubs maybe? LOL.

I hoped against hope and flew in the face of all the news that had him wanting out of our Mighty FC, so it is a hard blow to accept that Jesse has jumped ship right when we are finally entering the  Premiership Window. To me that shows a lack of awareness or Footy IQ on Jesse's behalf.

The King is Dead, Long live the King.............!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I can only Wish that Jesse takes the "Norm Smith Curse" with him.

A bit of an insurance move as Jeff is still quite capable when he finds form Wadda ... the position he plays means the club needs at least 3 of those types unless the we had a Jeff Farmer/Ricky Jackson type.

Let's face it,  we wouldn't have gotten May unless we traded Hogan so I'm already starting to come to terms with the move.  I'd still play Frost as a utility in the backline because we need his pace and dash out of defence.  He is underrated.

                                               Jetta    Oscar    Hibberd

                                            Frost    May    Lever    Salem

As Roos often says,  defence wins Championships and he is right.

If Weideman really blossoms,  we'll be fine.

Not gonna work at a centre bounce I'll tell you that right now.

Shoot the artist- it will quadruple in price.

For those who believe Mahoney caves too easy and should take a harder stance, consider Adrian Dodoro at Essendon, who has not for the first time just failed to deliver a trade for a big name player who wanted to go there.

Edit: I’m dumb, trade period not closed yet. Hopefully this turns out to still be true in a few hours ?

Who was the other player, I can’t think if him....

I don't know, but last year we picked Fritsch and Spargo. If that draft were done again Fritsch would go top 10 easily. Taylor is a gun, he is the biggest asset to our club. He has an eye for talent.

I feel like Jesse (as much as I loved having him on the team) was the last of our wantaway players on the list.  It seems like they all want to be there pulling in the same direction.  Go Dees! End of an era and beginning of a new one

Whilst I'm sorry to see such a talented young player leave MFC, Hogan going is a relief in some ways. We will not spend next season worrying about getting him to sign a new contract or that we will not get adequate compensation if he was to leave as a RFA at the end of 2019.

It would seem that May wants to be with us. His dedication to his new club and his on field aggression can only motivate other players. He can also play as a key position forward, if required.

Yes you're right Chook but once things settle in general play that sort of line-up is what we'll see ... might even be 6 or 8 back on occasions (when applicable)

The personnel and positions could change as well ... I just threw it out there to include Frost.  We might see a 2/5 or even a 3/5 make-up as a departure from the traditional 3/3.

Our hidden mics captured the farewell address. Transcription follows:

"Oh well, um, look, alright, ummmmmm ….. is this thing on? Um, well boys, I, um ... I s’pose you’re all wond’rin’ why I’m … AW SHUDDUP MAX.  Look, um …. Oh, I dunno. Me hands are shakin’. Anyone got a light? Look, this is some f**kin’ bullsh*t. ….. Why are yez all starin’ at me? You blokes knew I was goin’ off back West, right? No? What? Oh, nah, yeah, nah, I was always goin’—aw, f**k you Clarry! Who gives a f**k? The f**k? You f**kin [censored]. Nah, f**k you. I was gunna say, I love yez all, but if yez are gunna--- nah, f**k you. F**k the lot of yez. Nah, f**k off. No, YOU f**k off. Just f**k off. Ah, f**k this.

"

I'm not too fussed with this trade. Sad to see Jesse go, but ultimately we were given an on paper value of around pick two for him. We got slightly more than Freo got for Neale (pick three roughly). Ultimately we hit every Mark the club had set for trade period.

I am fascinated by the journey of pick six though. It started as pick five at Freo, was downgraded due to the Lynch deal, traded to Port, then Brisbane, back to Freo, Melbourne and finally Gold Coast. Will we see stove again? Will Adelaide make a late play for it?

You can also put a line through Keilty, Petty and J Smith. For 2019 at least

Keilty will get a chance up forward tho to see if he can squeeze his way in.

Heartfelt and classy.  Well done, Jesse.

As an aside it seems Jesse demanding an 8 year contract was rubbish.  He signed for three!

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.
