Maybe not done in the last few minutes, but drip fed announcements in the last few minutes.

A count down might be in order Mr. Leg!

Some lurid details please Ernie.

Are you talking about

Bette Midler Live album and her man Ernie?

It’s all being set up for the live telecast on Wednesday

All deals will have been signed off and will simply be ratified on the live telecast

Whole thing is so tedious

My question is, why aren’t other clubs falling over each other in a bid to get his signature?

Look what happened when Mitch Clark was supposedly going home.

Surely the answer is that he wants to go to WA if he leaves us.  That just leaves WCE who don't seem to have anything to offer and Freo who......

Spot on.

I’d say no and yep.

The club would not allow it if it did not give them time to complete the May trade, I don’t think we want the pick to take to the draft.

tell me it can't be true...

my core beliefs are being questioned here

Don’t think I have ever seen such a chat on DL where everyone agrees on one thing (Distaste to Freos/Bells amateurish trade strategies) and is unified.

I'd say more probable. It's getting like this every year. Well... put it this way... if he does get to them this trade period, that'll be how it happens.

Not sure if you're joking... is it for real being telecast? streamed somewhere? What can they show? Just people running back and forth with papers in their hands? If I have to watch that McLure guy another second I'm gonna puke.

That's a good point actually. You would think though that Freo would have been made aware well in advance that that would need to be the case.

Your Avatar being a champion would be another.

What home? Larundel?

Ah.. but could it be the AFL wanting young Belly to play the role of Black Hat Bart in its Wednesday evening drama.

Could all of these supposed deals Neale/Hogan/Sheil/Beams/May/Wingard already possibly gone through and AFL is just stock piling the news for this TV presentation?

He's succeeded...we all think he's an absolute ( insert word of choice )

What if Freo trades Neale in the last hour and offers MFC pick 5 and 11 for Hogan. MFC says that's OK and

Jessie says no I have changed my mind.

That would be grand to be honest.  :)

Good. I hope he does. I watched Hogan as a junior and immediately knew he was the best key back since Hurley. Currently we are screaming out for a key back. The answer is slapping us right in the face.

This actually movement, it will be helpful to get this done.

If it's 11 for Lobb + 25, Freo may offer us 5 + 25 which is close enough to 5 + 23 for me

If it's 11 for Lobb + 43 who knows what might happen.

23 or 25 are not first rounders. Mahoney said 2 first rounders at the start of trade week. Talk of these trades is media speculation and nothing more. Wasting pick 5 on May is ridiculous.

Got a quote of where he said that?

  • REPORT: Port Adelaide

Of course, it’s not the backline, you might argue and you would probably be right. It’s the boot studder (do they still have them?), the midfield, the recruiting staff, the forward line, the kicking coach, the Board, the interchange bench, the supporters, the folk at Casey, the head coach and the club psychologist  It’s all of them and all of us for having expectations that were sufficiently high to have believed three weeks ago that a restoration of the Melbourne team to a position where we might still be in contention for a finals berth when the time for the midseason bye arrived. Now let’s look at what happened over the period of time since Melbourne overwhelmed the Sydney Swans at the MCG in late May when it kicked 8.2 to 5.3 in the final quarter (and that was after scoring 3.8 to two straight goals in the second term).

  • CASEY: Essendon

Casey’s unbeaten run was extended for at least another fortnight after the Demons overran a persistent Essendon line up by 29 points at ETU Stadium in Port Melbourne last night. After conceding the first goal of the evening, Casey went on a scoring spree from about ten minutes in, with five unanswered majors with its fleet of midsized runners headed by the much improved Paddy Cross who kicked two in quick succession and livewire Ricky Mentha who also kicked an early goal. Leading the charge was recruit of the year, Riley Bonner while Bailey Laurie continued his impressive vein of form. With Tom Campbell missing from the lineup, Will Verrall stepped up to the plate demonstrating his improvement under the veteran ruckman’s tutelage. The Demons were looking comfortable for much of the second quarter and held a 25-point lead until the Bombers struck back with two goals in the shadows of half time. On the other side of the main break their revival continued with first three goals of the half. Harry Sharp, who had been quiet scrambled in the Demons’ first score of the third term to bring the margin back to a single point at the 17 minute mark and the game became an arm-wrestle for the remainder of the quarter and into the final moments of the last.

The Demons simply did not take their opportunities when they presented themselves and ultimately when down by 25 points effectively ending their finals chances. Goal kicking practice during the Bye?
