Two first round pick, one of which goes to GC for May and I'd imagine KK.  No way May would be worth a top 10 pick by himself.  Darcy wouldn't go with it if he had any doubt and Jones certainly wasn't refuting it.

Just throwing it around. I have no idea

Then  why post it as the latest news.

I actually find those type of posts where people make something up as something they have heard, or fact, among the worst on DL.

Looking forward to some humble pie serving if this actually happens. There were some really arrogant dismissals and personal attacks early on in this thread when someone dared to entertain trading Hogan.

I suspect the worst offenders wont have the agates to admit they got it wrong if it comes about.

You know who you are.

If those picks are 9 and 10 from Port then that's disappointing. One of them needs to be pick 4 or 5 at least

Seriously I am so sick of this “he is going he is staying” every single year since he’s been at Melbourne. Doesn’t feel like he has ever really committed to the club. If he wants to go home, we will be ok and I wish him all the very best.

Lets get maximum value for him and move on from this conjecture every season.

Hopefully we’re selling him at the right time with he foot issues.

Better still hopefully the foot issues prevent him from reaching his potential.

Got bigger issues to worry about than his foot

One thing we can probably all agree on is that JH never really got a clear run at it, without something going on, be it family, his health and injuries.

If he does get a clear run at it for the next 5-6 years, it is scary how good he could be.

If anyone thinks we shouldn't be asking for the absolute most for him, you are seriously undervaluing his potential.

Jones talked about Hogan and a "fresh start" and doing what "is best for family, friends and his own performance".  Anyone else get the sense from Jones' comments there may be more to it than just the go home factor?

Enough respected posters on here have virtually said he is gone.  That little dialogue from Jones confirms it for mine.

While the club isn't saying anything, giving Lever and Jones the ok to say things like they "will support Jesse's decision, whatever he decides" is the club's way of preparing supporters for the departure of a fan favourite, as it is bound to upset many.

I think the Stephen May part of the equation is a little overlooked. I think he has been a ripper Full back and his best is in front of him. Brian lake switched to the Hawks much later in his career and won a Norm Smith.

Well that’s really turned Grand Final day into a real downer

It's Colonwood v Boo Factory.

Already a lose/lose proposition.

Will all be forgotten if we turn the Hogan compo into the missing pieces of a Premiership puzzle.

Thought Jones handled himself quite well. Between a rock and a hard place as to how to answer that but he played a deft bat imho.

Really...what else was he going to say.

Well done Chunk.

Agree. I don’t want to keep him if his heart is not in it. We have seen how that’s turned out in the past.

I’m nervous that Mahoney and Co are not going to drive a hard bargain.

If we lose Hogan for May and chump change that will be a seriously disappointing outcome.

It must be May and either a very good pick or a very good starting 22 player.

I want May but no way is he of equal value to Hogan, not to mention the fact that we have the whip hand over Fremantle in this exchange. They need the player more than we need to give him.

Like many Demon supporters I will be watching on with keen critical interest as to how shrewdly we negotiate this. We traditionally have not been renowned for coming out on the winning side of trade table deals. A few yes but more often than not we’ve been the ones picking up the dropped soap in the prison shower.

I hope those days are over.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
