I believe Omac is the best full back of this century, and probably of all time.

(If we keep saying it enough, it becomes true. I've seen it work at other clubs.)

Of course he has.
Any-one who saw his sensational falcon on friday night will agree.

It'll only take one bad match for people to be calling for his head.

To be fair to Oscar he's asked to do a lot more than Tom was. Tom also got a lot more support when he was a defender. Oscar's best was with Lever supporting him and then he's been back to the old Oscar since, but slightly better.

That's what it means to be a younger brother.

I'm the youngest of 3. I get spoilt.

OMG i knew the Age has essentially destroyed its credibility in the past few years, but this is the final confirmation if ever it was needed.

I think your post is clickbait...

Oscar:  “I think a key to a good finals team is to have a really settled backline that is willing to do anything to save goals, and defend really hard, so I think that’s what we’re building towards.”

And so it was Friday night.  They played and defended with purpose and desperation.  Look forward to more of that this Friday.

And:  "Oscar remains out-of-contract but insists a new deal isn’t far away".   Probably won't be announce until after our finals run.

That can't be right. A demonland poster (whose name escapes me) is confident he us not 'locked away' because he is not best 22 and club are holding odf with a view to trading him.

Sheesh.

Dr cool is getting cooler.

Well, when you're trying to spoil or mark, good positioning is the key.

He's clearly been working on that aspect of the game, if he can now spoil with his 5th vertebrae.

A month is a long time.  Most sheep around here were calling for his head.  Not many of the nervous nellies were sticking fat with OMac.

This.

All the c&$p that went on four years ago about Dunn versus OMAC. It was obvious Dunn would never play in a Dee premiership and OMAC was pinpointed by Roos and Goody as the go-with option. He hasn't let them or us down! Only another 240 games to go Oscar . . . and they'll still be into ya mate!

As a backman TMAC's best was/is better than OMAC's. As a forward there is no comparison.

Click bait from the age. Either that or Cherny simply has no idea.

The gag is explained in the first two paragraphs FFS.

Did anyone here actually read the article? The title was a bit of a trick. He's surpassed his brother in games played without kicking a goal now.

Tom's settled up forward. Oscar's settled down back. He's developed well over the past 12 months and will be important for our club going forward. Hopefully a new contract is signed soon.

I’m not that fat according to my BMI, but I’m sticking fat for Oscar! 4 year deal soon to be announced!

As a defender it is a reasonable question. Oscar is a better decision maker and field kick than Tom.

By the end of next year I suspect he’ll be seen as the better defender

  • REPORT: Geelong

I was disappointed to hear Goody say at his post match presser after the team’s 39 point defeat against Geelong that "we're getting high quality entry, just poor execution" because Melbourne’s problems extend far beyond that after its 0 - 4 start to the 2025 football season. There are clearly problems with poor execution, some of which were evident well before the current season and were in play when the Demons met the Cats in early May last year and beat them in a near top-of-the-table clash that saw both sides sitting comfortably in the top four after round eight. Since that game, the Demons’ performances have been positively Third World with only five wins in 19 games with a no longer majestic midfield and a dysfunctional forward line that has become too easy for opposing coaches to counter. This is an area of their game that is currently being played out as if they were all completely panic-stricken.

  • PREGAME: Essendon

Facing the very real and daunting prospect of starting the season with five straight losses, the Demons head to South Australia for the annual Gather Round, where they’ll take on the Bombers in search of their first win of the year. Who comes in, and who comes out?

  • NON-MFC: Round 04

Round 4 kicks off with a blockbuster on Thursday night as traditional rivals Collingwood and Carlton clash at the MCG, with the Magpies looking to assert themselves as early-season contenders and the Blues seeking their first win of the season. Saturday opens with Gold Coast hosting Adelaide, a key test for the Suns as they aim to back up their big win last week, while the Crows will be looking to keep their perfect record intact. Reigning wooden spooners Richmond have the daunting task of facing reigning premiers Brisbane at the ‘G and the Lions will be eager to reaffirm their premiership credentials after a patchy start. Saturday night sees North Melbourne take on Sydney at Marvel Stadium, with the Swans looking to build on their first win of the season last week against a rebuilding Roos outfit. Sunday’s action begins with GWS hosting West Coast at ENGIE Stadium, a game that could get ugly very early for the visitors. Port Adelaide vs St Kilda at Adelaide Oval looms as a interesting clash, with both clubs form being very hard to read. The round wraps up with Fremantle taking on the Western Bulldogs at Optus Stadium in what could be a fierce contest between two sides with top-eight ambitions. Who are you tipping this week and what are the best results for the Demons besides us winning?

  • POSTGAME: Geelong

The Demons have slumped to their worst start to a season since 2012, falling to 0–4 after a more spirited showing against the Cats at Kardinia Park. Despite the improved effort, they went down by 39 points, and the road ahead is looking increasingly grim.
