No chance..

Tyson deserves to be dropped but won’t be. Spargo only fair last night but maybe the occasion got to him. If it’s a dry track against the Hawks, Jeffy must come in to calculations. Yeah, some will say he is out of form but on a dry, spacious ground he is more of a concern to opposition coaches than Spargo.

Tyson and Spargo were our poorest performers but Tyson did break his arm like two weeks ago, so let’s keep that in mind. I think in highly contested finals he is important as he is very good at extracting the footy, and he allows us to rotate other mids between the Centre and the wing (eg- Brayshaw).

I don’t think they’ll drop anyone. However if they did I would be tempted to drop Spargo, push Fritsch up forward and bring in Smith (Joel) or Hunt to play off half back. But it’s quite a big structural change and could be risky.

Don’t mess with a winning formula I say. No change.

19 degrees and light winds is the present prediction for next Friday.

Cannot see any changes. Ironic that there is no VFL match for the fringe to push their case.

No change.

Hawks will lose Stratton to  a hammy.

Agreed no changes. Thought Spargo was ok and Dom was solid.

2 words in the heading. Semi Final folks!!!’ Wow...people at the train station post match simply couldn’t believe this is happening, they were slapping themselves to wake up.

As to the changes, no change at this stage. We look as settled as we have all year.

Perfect summary.

Charlie Spargo – 5
The first-year youngster was not overawed in his first final, but as you would expect he did not have a lot of impact on the game. What he did best was dish the ball to teammates, ending the night with three score assists – the most of any player on the ground.

No change. This team did the job last night. The ones that didn't play so well will be better off for the experience last night.

Don't mess with a winning team. The 22 that ran out last night deserve to be there again.

One part of my mind is saying:

Out: Spargo

In: Hunt or Garlett

That same part of my mind says Hawks lost to Brisbane twice and almost lost to STK a couple of weeks ago.

We are a totally different team now than we were when Hawks beat us earlier in the year.

Bring it on.

I want to say

out: Spargo

in: Jeffy

but i doubt they will do that, i still thought spargo played a pretty good game.

No change.

Tyson did more work in the packs than could be easily seen at the game or on the TV. Not a great game but earned his spot.

Spargo. Goodwin loves two way runners and this bloke does it week in, week out. He doesn't end up with a heap of the ball but he provides options, makes space, and provides a crumbing option. He still gets muscled out of contests a bit and his kicking needs work but his work rate will probably keep him in. Probably the only player whose spot is shaky.

Might have been an outside chance if there had been a VFL game today for the potential ins but given otherwise no change.

Hard to get a form line on the two teams from the debacle earlier in the season but I think on more recent form we would go in slight favourites. Cannot afford to miss so many easy ones though. Mind you the Cats missed a few as well but nowhere near as many as we did.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Western Bulldogs

The Dogs reigned supreme in 2018 with an inaugural AFLW premiership cup and the Demons matched this feat by winning the cup as the Season 7 2022 champions.Meggs wasn’t born when the Doggies won their first VFL premiership cup against the Demons in 1954. Covid prevented many Demons fans from legally witnessing the victorious 2021 AFL Grand Final cup performance between the Demons and the Bulldogs, but we all grin when remembering those magnificent seven third quarter goals.
