Maxy's favourite ruckman!!!

On a related note to this trade Tyson wouldn't have hit the target that The Big Prussian hit with the kick from the free.

Love a photo of Charlie Spargo in between Brayden and Max

Can't confirm the authenticity of this photo.

A little touch of gold from The Carlton Draft... (with all due respect to Dom)

LoL.... It looked like he was in WWE just for a second.

?

North board on BF saying they feel the new ruck rules will suit his style. He’s left there for greater opportunity so it will be interesting to see how he gets utilised. He obviously likes the plan we’ve put forward for him.

Welcome aboard Prussian (love it) ?

Similar attributes to Gawny so if we can get him on the program that Gawn’s on he will be a beast !

Not saying he can’t kick goals or mark but we really need to work on those attributes so he can be more than just “Gawns back up”. He could become a dangerous tall up forward with TMac & Weids while being a very handy option to Max Gawn in the ruck when Gawn has a rest or plays up back/forward.

If he followed a similar trajectory to Mason Cox when playing forward we will be unstoppable next year.

Up forward, Preuss will give both the Weed and TMac heaps of options to lead forward of the goalmouth. He could also be handy for a smaller crumber for snaps. Great potential for the team.

He comes in for specific ruck match ups against certain clubs ... and to prolong Max’s career.

Looking forward to those games where Preussy starts in the centre square and opposition defenders shite themselves as Big Max struts down to the goalsquare!

mahoney good on that update - sounds as fed up with freo's bs as everyone on this board

Tells it like it is, and doesn't stuff around with delusional scenarios - hello peter bell (not worthy of capitals)

Im happy with this. It gives Max more of a break and this guy is massive so he can go forward to. It means hopefully weiderman and Tom know longer have to do ruckwork and can stay down forward.

Welcome to the club big Preuss! Just as a thought for a solution with our defensive questions, could we play Preuss back there a bit? Big body, surely wouldn’t be outmarked too many times, his recruitment also throws up the ability to swing Jesse, Sam, or TMac back at times.

Maxxy’s statement of my “favourite ruckman” (while perhaps a little bit of comedy) does have me hopeful that they’ll work well together.

“Marcel” Preuss

Probably a bit high brow for the Demon hoi polloi. ( Proust is boring anyhow. As boring as Gerald Murnane.)

Great result. Gawn gets what he needs and our options grow.

Boy we are big next year...

"Cat"....as in Preussy cat.

Cat says yes.

As a Prussian descendant (my fathers, fathers, fathers, fathers side), I have a clear fav for nickname.

Calculated risk, still relatively unproven but he’ll be in the right environment to grow.

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
