Definitely a blow after his form this year but I think they showed they can cover him last yearย

Another navicular bone related injury...

Anyway, best of luck Jesse! Hope to see you back fit and firing in round 1 next year.

Maybe announced this arvo

To some posters, got to be careful what you wish forโ€ฆโ€ฆ

I will say this to all who have been critical of Jesse Hogan and wanted him traded or outย  just incase you forgot his name, You have your wish. Live with it. I hope you feel ashamed with yourselves..

You play for weeks with sore knees, ankles whatever it was that was hampering him and it changes your biomechanics. You put more weight through your foot and youย  crack the navicular.

It's not rocket science. It's the same thing happening over and over again.

Numerous posters on here have been saying for weeks lets give Hogan a week off and get him right. Unfortunately the idiots in charge didn't do it and now this is the result.

Are we ever going to get a decent run at it....team was going ok, now finals chances pretty much ruined by injuries....

The Suns game provided that opportunity but wasnโ€™t taken.

He's kicked 9 goals in the 7 games we've played against the top 9 sides, and 3 of those came in round 1.

Perhaps we may function better without him against the top sides. That's the only positive I can take out of this injury.

how do you know?

He rang 94201700 and pretended to be his GP?

Why are we shooting the messenger anyway?ย  The real issue is the club's history in dealing with below-knee issues.

Bloody Training Oval takes another victim.ย  It is like training on a road, footy boots aren't designed for training on rock hard surfaces, Asic's is the only boot which half resembles a running show.ย  Be interesting to see with the guys who have suffered foot injuries with Melbourne which boot manufacturer they wear.ย  Hogan is Adidas, no more Adidas wedge to soften the impact.

Maybe our midfielders can kick it to leading mid forwards this week, Jesse hasnt been the same since after the break, all the best for next year but this could be a blessing in disguise.

Time for the Weid too please stand up!

Please stand up....

Pleaseย stand up....

Good luck on your recovery Jesse!ย

ย

Get that foot better Jesse, have a good break and come back fitter and stronger in 2019.

Looks like the "Weed" may get his chance to shine yet in 2018.

Go Dee's..................!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sniffle, Sob dammit WAAaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think Heeneyโ€™s weight was too much for Jessieโ€™s foot! Shame on you Pedo... lol

There's no doubt how disappointing this is .. Jesse had put his best foot forward this year after a horror 2017. Feel for the guy.ย

So many experts on here. Iโ€™ve seen everything blamed in this thread from Misson to the club Doctor to Hogan himselfย to the training groundย surface to not resting him against Gold Coastย - all claimed as if indisputable fact. If I jumped up the ladder of inference in my job the way you lot do Iโ€™d have been sacked years ago.

Yep, and there is a fair chance that the same thing will happen with Gawn too given that Goodwin seems determined to run him into the ground.

If this is true and the medicos had half a clue it was a navicular or aย potentially serious injury why was he allowed to play out the game?ย

That's a pretty good question DZ. Maybe they assessed it could do no more damage. Given our run of foot injuries, they would surely be on edge and cautious at the first sign of discomfort, which Jesse said was Q2ย

FFS cannot take a trick! Poor bloke he's had so much crap to deal with the last 18 months. Hopefully it's not a result of continuing to play him after he injured it against Port (especially considering the history we have with foot injuries - Clark, Trengove, Viney, McDonald...)

From memory, we functioned quite well without Hogan last year and we beat WCE over there without him.

ย

Massive blow for him. If anyone deserved to be at the business end of the season it was him. Shocking news.

Mastering the art of bafoonery.ย

I posted several times in the โ€œtrade Hoganโ€ thread yesterday ย and I stand by my comments, mainly โ€œyou ultimately get judged by how you perform in the big gamesโ€.

For you to suggest some of us take any joy out of this news is just plain stupid. And no I donโ€™t feel ashamed, Iโ€™ll leaveย that to those who either canโ€™t or refuse to deal with reality.

Its happened, we process it, parkย it upย and move on, weโ€™ve still got two games to play and a potential finals campaign.ย I personally believe this news doesnโ€™t mark the end of our season.

  • Thank You Simon Goodwin

As Demon fans, weโ€™ve ridden a rollercoaster of emotions over the decades; the heartbreaks, the near misses, the wooden spoons, and the endless waiting. But through it all, we clung to hope. And then came Simon Goodwin. Before he ever wore red and blue, he was a champion in his own right. A five-time All-Australian, two-time Best and Fairest, and two-time premiership hero and Captain with Adelaide, Simon Goodwin was always destined to lead. When he transitioned from the field to the coach's box, first as an assistant at Essendon, he began shaping a new legacy.
