Demons11 7,151 Posted August 14, 2018 Posted August 14, 2018 Definitely a blow after his form this year but I think they showed they can cover him last year 5 Quote

DeeSpencer 26,692 Posted August 14, 2018 Posted August 14, 2018 You play for weeks with sore knees, ankles whatever it was that was hampering him and it changes your biomechanics. You put more weight through your foot and you crack the navicular. It's not rocket science. It's the same thing happening over and over again. Numerous posters on here have been saying for weeks lets give Hogan a week off and get him right. Unfortunately the idiots in charge didn't do it and now this is the result. 2 Quote
sisso 2,628 Posted August 14, 2018 Posted August 14, 2018 Are we ever going to get a decent run at it....team was going ok, now finals chances pretty much ruined by injuries.... 1 Quote

Bring-Back-Powell 15,562 Posted August 14, 2018 Posted August 14, 2018 He's kicked 9 goals in the 7 games we've played against the top 9 sides, and 3 of those came in round 1. Perhaps we may function better without him against the top sides. That's the only positive I can take out of this injury. 3 1 Quote

drdrake 3,203 Posted August 14, 2018 Posted August 14, 2018 Bloody Training Oval takes another victim. It is like training on a road, footy boots aren't designed for training on rock hard surfaces, Asic's is the only boot which half resembles a running show. Be interesting to see with the guys who have suffered foot injuries with Melbourne which boot manufacturer they wear. Hogan is Adidas, no more Adidas wedge to soften the impact. 1 Quote
YesitwasaWin4theAges 6,840 Posted August 14, 2018 Posted August 14, 2018 Maybe our midfielders can kick it to leading mid forwards this week, Jesse hasnt been the same since after the break, all the best for next year but this could be a blessing in disguise. 1 1 1 Quote

Looks like the "Weed" may get his chance to shine yet in 2018. Go Dee's..................!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sniffle, Sob dammit WAAaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 3 1 Quote
Dee tention 619 Posted August 14, 2018 Posted August 14, 2018 I think Heeney’s weight was too much for Jessie’s foot! Shame on you Pedo... lol 2 Quote
Die Hard Demon 1,224 Posted August 14, 2018 Posted August 14, 2018 There's no doubt how disappointing this is .. Jesse had put his best foot forward this year after a horror 2017. Feel for the guy. 1 1 Quote
Nasher 33,686 Posted August 14, 2018 Posted August 14, 2018 So many experts on here. I’ve seen everything blamed in this thread from Misson to the club Doctor to Hogan himself to the training ground surface to not resting him against Gold Coast - all claimed as if indisputable fact. If I jumped up the ladder of inference in my job the way you lot do I’d have been sacked years ago. 3 2 Quote

Yep, and there is a fair chance that the same thing will happen with Gawn too given that Goodwin seems determined to run him into the ground. Quote

That's a pretty good question DZ. Maybe they assessed it could do no more damage. Given our run of foot injuries, they would surely be on edge and cautious at the first sign of discomfort, which Jesse said was Q2 1 Quote
Dr. Gonzo 24,468 Posted August 14, 2018 Posted August 14, 2018 FFS cannot take a trick! Poor bloke he's had so much crap to deal with the last 18 months. Hopefully it's not a result of continuing to play him after he injured it against Port (especially considering the history we have with foot injuries - Clark, Trengove, Viney, McDonald...) 2 1 Quote
SFebes 4,884 Posted August 14, 2018 Posted August 14, 2018 From memory, we functioned quite well without Hogan last year and we beat WCE over there without him. Quote
layzie 34,528 Posted August 14, 2018 Posted August 14, 2018 Massive blow for him. If anyone deserved to be at the business end of the season it was him. Shocking news. 3 Quote

I posted several times in the “trade Hogan” thread yesterday and I stand by my comments, mainly “you ultimately get judged by how you perform in the big games”. For you to suggest some of us take any joy out of this news is just plain stupid. And no I don’t feel ashamed, I’ll leave that to those who either can’t or refuse to deal with reality. Its happened, we process it, park it up and move on, we’ve still got two games to play and a potential finals campaign. I personally believe this news doesn’t mark the end of our season. 4 Quote
