We look to top heavy and slow. No zip and we are hand balling without thinking every bloody chance we can.

So you think we can with is? Sydney are tearing us apart ATM

Of course I do.  Not every game goes exactly to script.  The Swans are a proud side who still have plenty of talent across the ground.  It was never going to be a walk in park.

We're Top 4 for a reason.  Our second halves are pretty strong normally and we've got plenty of improvement left in us.

Absolute madness to suggest we can't win it when we have 2 quarters to go and we're 2 goals down.

@DaisyDeeciple  - is there somewhere I can watch in the morning in your adopted city? Which I won't name, lest I derail this thread with my humble-brag.

hey very sorry to miss this, will PM you, short answer no but i can share my app

Don't kick to Alir. He plays for Swans remember.

Who is surprised that when we need him most, Gawn is going at 50% fitness, Oliver is nowhere to be seen, likewise Jones, likewise Lewis. TMac can’t buy a goal, and Sydney can’t miss.

[censored] me why do I do this to myself? Why do I get my hopes up every damn year?

Become a poker machine addict instead and enjoy the good things in life

My concern going into this game was we were too tall.

Not currently, we're not.

If we blow it today (which we look certain to do, given how predictably we blow these golden opportunities) we won't find ourselves back in the 4 again this year.

No they are not, we’re just kicking behinds. Stats also suggest we’re ahead

they kicked 6.1 and found a concerning amount of space. if you're equating having more of the ball to them not tearing us apart you're delusional. That was a complete belting.

Friends, we can still win this! I'm at the G, and it's almost as gloomy as it is on the forum!

Sure, we dished out a fair bit of garbage in that first half, but the Swans have been lucky/took their chances in front of goal. The stats show we're largely doing the business, and will take control if we just capitalise!

We'll come out firing! (I'll need it, it's freezing out here!).

Plenty of the game left to be played my friend.  It hasn't been pretty so far, I won't argue that for a second, but we're well within striking distance and I've got faith we can get better in the second half.

Everything is ok .

except for the over use / points kicked .

Kicking inaccuracy is well & truly going to be an issue for the remainder of this game.

& for the usually reliable McDonald... his set shot kicking has dropped off a heap over the past month.

Need more composure going forward.

Lets see if we can make amends in the second half.

??

Fritsch and Hunt to both wings.  Tracc through the middle and changing with Jones resting forward.

2 men down.  Run them off their pants for the win!

Bottom 10 players have horrendous stats. Need a big lift from the fringe. Who will / won’t stand up in an important match?

Plenty left in this game, particularly with the Swans 2 rotations down.

We can still win, but gfc we need to stop panicking when we have the pill.

I havent given up, .................... yet.

sorry but again our backline is not this issue. lazy everywhere else.

Their D against our attack was always a tight contest. Their attack vs our D I felt they had a huge advantage. The only way I saw us winning this was midfield dominance. They have a lot of stars in there too, Parker, JPK, others... This game was always 50-50... Our inaccuracy is the key. 9 scoring shots to 15... we should be 3-4 goals up.

Obviously i hope your right but i dont think today is that day.

Missing those easy shots by Jesse and TMac really, really hurt, and hard to forgive.

But yeah, don't see how we can't still win. Early calls here are very dramatic.

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
