Losing is simply not an option if we want to play finals. Luckily we’ll come out pumped up and show the Dogs what we’re made of. Dogs by 27.

That’s a strange prediction ET following on from the preceding two sentences! ?

I really want Melbourne to win too make a bad week a little bit better. My 88 year old mother is currently in hospital after having her appendix removed on Monday.  I will be visiting her on the way to the game. A win would really lift my spirits. CARN THE DEMONS.

After the Hawthorn & Richmond losses I stopped caring so much and we went on a 6 game winning streak... The St.Kilda game crushed me again, so I've gone back to not caring so much. Can't watch tonights game which will be weird, I can't recall ever not watching a game on t.v. atleast. Dees by 23, hoping more than anything!

That just described my season also...

mind you, i am always optimistic!

Turn a higher percentage of  Forward 50 entries in goals, and we win easily. Although our win/loss ratio has been very patchy, we have been playing good footy between the opposition goal and our half forward line.

Either

1. TMac, Hogan or Fritsch have to take F50 marks and convert most into goals

2. Midfield and half forwards (Petracca, Brayshaw, Harmes) have to kick goals running into F50

3. ... or Garlett, Spargo and ANB have to get crumb goals.

It would be great if all 3 happened.

Amazing weather down here for the game. Literally no excuses.

I suppose if we lose, I’ll at least be on a forced outside media ban when I head to China in a couple of days and I can drown my sorrows in pollution and MSG.

Your mum and the Bont both lose their appendix in the same week. How many weeks will your mum miss ?? Hope she gets well soon. Oh and same for the Bont

We've lost them all.

Guess what I'm doing today...?

Staying home with your blinds closed?

Don't forget to take your own oxygen to China Jaded. They're a bit light on for clean air there so it seems.

I know....you wouldn't read about it ??

Well I unfortunately will be missing my first home game for this season after my collingwood supporting sister in law had her birthday during the week and decided that saturday night we will be going out for dinner. Not friday night but saturday night. I also blame the AFL because if this game was at 1:45 then I could have gone.

So I hope we win, get a game clear of geelong and pass sydney

C'mon Dee supporters, enjoy our journey. Win or lose, we are getting a better ride than in previous years. Go to game, watch the game, none of the heeby jeeby's, jinx's or general anxiety. We are competitive, we can win when we are behind and can dominate games. I know there is an emotional gamble but is only a game. Enjoy, I don't get the hide away, not go or watch it. Individual superstitions really don't determine the outcome (stop the magic thoughts). Have some courage, I wouldn't want to be anywhere else on such a beautiful Melbourne day, at the "G", win or lose.

Was not planning to go today for fear of extending my 0-5 live record this year.

But then my boss scored tickets to a sponsored corporate box in the ponsford stand level 1. It actually is important work schmooze.

Who’s been in one before? I’m worried I’ll make a [censored] of myself. I’ll guess I’ll just keep shoving canapés in my mouth and watch quietly..

Been in lots of corporate boxes over the years due to work. To be honest I much prefer to sit out in the members but it’s a great view and sometimes the food is better than your average pie and chip.

You do need to show a level of restraint though especially if your boss is present.

You beat me to it CB !!!

I think Ethan may have had too many of those odd sprinkles on his breakfast.

Another of those nothing games... Meh if we win as Geelong are the real challenge... and if we lose... well that's it if it's not already over.

Hope Goodwin has done his tactical homework and has a plan B because his plan A has not worked of late.

I reckon we'll win pretty comfortably today: unless Billy Gowers kicks 8 the Bulldogs don't have any firepower

Charlie Spargo to earn his first NAB Rising star nomination. Will easily outdo Caleb Daniel and Razor Ray today.

Heading to the ground with my youngest (nearly 3) today for her first AFL game. She has her demon backpack packed already and is packing her snacks into little ziplock bags, never seen her so organized!

please the lords of football let her cheer on many goals and get to sing the song at the end of the game today!!! ???

3. And jkh. Im pleased he is back and i really have a feeling he might cement a spot in the team. Im going to back hom for most goals

I accidentally intercepted a briefcase in a complicated false agent/dupe interchange, where three men in overcoats, hats, dark glasses and thick accents bumped into each other, fumbled identical cases and departed in a hurry. In the briefcase I was left with were extensive notes, statistics and analysis of today's match. The conclusion? Dees by 26 points, JKH to kick 2 goals and Melksham to snap out of his mini-slump.

It is at the MCG so I have no idea who will win. I have seen us beat North there so can't be completely MFCSS'D about this.

Things I don't want to see:

The Dogs stacking their backline and running it out at will via the flanks. Coll, Port, St K and Haw did that....

Stop that happening and we win.

it's the blueprint for beating us as we all know...wonder why the Coach doesn't?

It's a bit like the pantomime where you yell out " He's behind you".

  • PREVIEW: Richmond

A few years ago, the Melbourne Football Club produced a documentary about the decade in which it rose from its dystopic purgatory of regular thrashings to the euphoria of a premiership victory. That entire period could have been compressed in a fast motion version of the 2025 season to date as the Demons went from embarrassing basket case to glorious winner in an unexpected victory over the Dockers last Saturday. They transformed in a single week from a team that put in a pedestrian effort of predictably kicking the ball long down the line into attack that made a very ordinary Bombers outfit look like worldbeaters into a slick, fast moving side with urgency and a willingness to handball and create play with shorter kicks and by changing angles to generate an element of chaos that yielded six goals in each of the opening quarters against Freo.
