Given the widespread lack of originality and creativity with players' nicknames these days, I'd go with "Langers".

Not real good at supporting your claims with facts, are you?

As long as it’s not clangers langers

If we are that keen on him, I cannot comprehend why we didn't make a serious play for Langdon as part of the Hogan deal last year. Now we have zero bargaining power and will end up paying overs to bring him in this year.

Maybe because he didn’t want to leave last year?

FFS. Ridiculous post. Par for the course, but ridiculous nonetheless.

Langdon was great again this round. 37 disposals (24 kicks) at 73% efficiency and a huge 852 metres gained (most of any player this round thus far).

At this rate he's going to cost us more than originally planned!

He’s already putting his own interests above the interests of the club.

let him roll thru into the psd, get him with pick #2 for nada

Best idea, I reckon we strike up a deal with Gold Coast where would could trade slight overs with them so they ignore him in the PSD. My idea was pick 2 plus Frost for King, pick 18 (brissy's pick) and Jack Martin while not participating in the PSD.

Would like to see us take Richard Douglas for 1 season and then offer him a coaching role. He is a great lad who could give our team more leadership.

Has that ever happened in the last 10 years?

Can't see that occurring.

He’s also contending that we have no leverage this year in contrast to last year, although last year he was contracted and now he is out of contract.

I’d say understanding this caper is not his strong suit.

In theory we should have a strong bargaining position with players coming out of contract by pointing out we are low in the order for the PSD.

Whether we actually exploit it is another thing.

Fingers cross we get this done well.

like it as a bargaining tactic... an offer of 60% say of his trade value or we take him in the PSD.

Time for our trade negotiators to deal hard as Freo and GC did with us last year.

Our second round pick is quite high so I'd love to keep it or at least trade back into that round albeit with a lower pick

does anyone know the rules on colluding in the PSD.

Assuming a deal can be done with GC and a money deal with Langdon it seems to be a no brainer.

In the past I recall players saying I will only go to club X and it was frowned on. Perhaps different if Langdon merely said he wants to come to Melbourne (city) thus ruling out GC

Brayshaw + a second rounder gets it done.

Do it.

Not sure if this is serious.

On reflection, my post was miscommunication;

Brayshaw for Langdon + a (late) second rounder.

Langlauf? Because we’ve got too many downhill skiers already!

?I think the Langdon family were in the wine business.  Good fit for the MFC!

A minute to go until half time and langdon is already up to 21 disposals and has kicked 2.0

Do whatever it takes to get him to the Dees!

  • CASEY: Brisbane

The rain had been falling heavily in south east Queensland when the match began at Springfield, west of Brisbane. The teams exchanged early goals and then the Casey Demons proceeded like a house on fire in the penultimate game of the VFL season against a strong opponent in the Brisbane Lions. Sparked by strong play around the ground by seasoned players in Charlie Spargo and Jack Billings, a strong effort from Bailey Laurie and promising work from youngsters in Kynan Brown and  Koltyn Tholstrup, the Demons with multiple goal kickers firing, raced to a 27 point lead late in the opening stanza. A highlight was a wonderful goal from Laurie who brilliantly sidestepped two opponents and kicked beautifully from 45 metres out.
