Jake Lever injury - Confirmed ACL

Recommended Posts

No concrete news yet, but there was a clip on afl.com of him leaving the hospital/doctors being harassed by journalist and he was walking unaided with a barely noticeable limp. When probed if he'd done his ACL he said not sure and doctor wasn't sure and he didn't wanna talk about it further. I feel if it was full blown ACL he'd have been on crutches? I'm still hopeful it's just a strain and he'll be back after 4-6 weeks.

Clip of Lever is in the first part of this video http://www.afl.com.au/video/2018-06-03/rance-will-be-embarrassed

Also, great to see Rance come under attention in a negative way for once. The guy's a dirty cheating piece of sh*t, and probably the most over-rated player in the history of the game. Never seen a guy get so much praise for losing so many one-on-one contests. When I checked 2 weeks back, he had conceded the second most amount of goals out of all full backs this season, despite Richmond flying!

Someone mentioned Fritsch in the role......i thought that was a good suggestion. Hes a done well everywhere else hes been put and is a deadly kick.

Agree with you on form, but he is subject to an injurious mozzie-swat with that build and the Filth like to crush the smaller guys. Big body, big leap, strong, a two-feet 'lander' for stability and take-off. Frosty and/or Pedersen from the bench.

Yes your correct with the build i guess, but i was thinking more along the lines of that drop back sweeping role that Lever was doing so well. Not so much thinking of the Filth game, but for the remainder of the season. Pedo is ok, and i really like Frosty but im not sure how the form is going.

Viney mentioned a few names on the footy show as possible replacements and good to hear him mention Keilty second after Frost. It could mean little or maybe he’s really rated down there. Positive plug nonetheless.

Hahaha
I've grabbed screenshots and attached below. Have a look at Dive 1-4. Can see McKernans arms clearly beside Rance, doesn't even touch his back let alone push it, Rance misjudges ball and then launches into a superman dive to milk a free kick. Pathetic. He'll get a fine for diving/staging, but I'd rather than suspend him, as he's a repeat offender and dirty player in our game. Still can't believe he's so adored after king-hitting Watts in the back of the head. Commentators talked it down saying he was frustrated!

Has there been any news on radio today about Lever anyone?

Absolutely can't stand Shitmond. Never have. Since the 1960's they've been a bunch of cheats.

Bloke sounded gutted when outside AAMI last night.  I wish him all the best.

I think we have two options, bring in Smith as a zone/ intercept replacement or bring in a taller player as KPD replacement.

Personally, I think Smith gets the nod because he fits the structure, is more flexible (less one dimensional) and the coaches love him. I'm worried that teams with multiple tall (195+) forwards may exploit this, but we'll back our structure to prevent one on ones.

Absolutely disgraceful the way AFL paid journalists are allowed to interrogate players who have just had their year ripped out of their careers. The man must be heartbroken and to have that happen is inexcusable.

Suggest the AFTPA write into the next EBA that door-stopped injured footballers in their workplace is disallowed.

Waking unaided after ACL tear pre-op isn't unusual.

How far do you think he would throw Razor?

Great thought, throwing Razor but I don't think he could be thrown far enough away by anyone.

Wouldn't he need a transfer to St.Kilda to be able to throw dwarfs?

Pity Brooooose wasn't commentating - would have collapsed in orgasmic ecstasy about the "brave attempt to spoil".

    REDLEG PRIDE by Meggs

Hump day mid-week footy at the Redlegs home ground is a great opportunity to build on our recent improved competitiveness playing in the red and blue.   The jumper has a few other colours this week with the rainbow Pride flag flying this round to celebrate people from all walks of life coming together, being accepted. AFLW has been a benchmark when it comes to inclusivity and a safe workplace.  The team will run out in a specially designed guernsey for this game and also the following week

    REDEEMING by Meggs

It was such a balmy spring evening for this mid-week BNCA Pink Lady match at our favourite venue Ikon Park between two teams that had not won a game since round one.   After last week’s insipid bombing, the DeeArmy banner correctly deemanded that our players ‘go in hard, go in strong, go in fighting’, and girl they sure did!   The first quarter goals by Alyssa Bannan and Alyssia Pisano were simply stunning, and it was 4 goals to nil by half-time.   Kudos to Mick Stinear.

    REDEEM by Meggs

How will Mick Stinear and his dwindling list of fit and available Demons respond to last week’s 65-point capitulation to the Bombers, the team’s biggest loss in history?   As a minimum he will expect genuine effort from all of his players when Melbourne takes on the GWS Giants at Ikon Park this Thursday.  Happily, the ground remains a favourite Melbourne venue of players and spectators alike and will provide an opportunity for the Demons to redeem themselves. EASYBEATS by Meggs

A beautiful sunny Friday afternoon, with a light breeze and a strong Windy Hill crowd set the scene, inviting one team to seize the day and take the important four points on offer. For the Demons it was not a good Friday, easily beaten by an all-time largest losing margin of 65 points.   Essendon threw themselves into action today, winning most of the contests and had three early goals with Daria Bannister on fire.  In contrast the Demons were dropping marks, hesitant in close and comm
