Ed will get a week, Charlie just a fine.

I think Charlie’s is worse. Trying to stop an umpire coming in to bark orders. Doesn’t look good.

You may be right but charlies is worse than eds. If Hawkins gets a week then so should they. Personally I don't think there is anything in these incidents but rules are rules.

I really don't see a huge difference between these and the Hawkins case.

May has obviously pointed out that he was demonstrating to the umpire and had a reason for touching him with little force.

What are both Ed and Charlie's reasoning? Neither were accidental. They were both moving the umpire out of their space. I really think both should get a week if the AFL want to be consistent with this one. They have a chance to do so.

If the AFL are so pedantic with players' touching umpires, then it also needs to go the other way as well. Umps shouldn't touch player's either.

Or give ridiculous free kicks against them.

They showed the full footage on 360 and tbh seeing it in it’s full I think both will cop a week.

Yes agree, there was a lot more in the Charlie one shown from the Afl 360 footage then was seen in the original footage. I suspect we'll have a Curnow free game next sunday.

Whats with all the players touching umpires lately?  They need to send a message and suspend them both.

If they don’t they’re devaluing the offence, causing unnecessary confusion and leaving themselves wide open for being accused of introducing  yet another kangaroo court.

Surely they don’t want that.

They had the MRP guy on the news talking about this.  He said the force is irrelevant and the only thing they look at is whether it was deliberate or careless.  May got off because they decided he was careless.  Both Curnows look to have done it deliberately, so they will probably be done for a week each.

Just saw the extra footage and different angle of the Charlie Curnow incident and I reckon he’s definitely gone. He seems to touch the umpire twice.

Ed’s looks about on par with the Hawkins incident so have to be a week for him as well.

Footy is becoming a joke if these two get suspended - along with the Hawkins one. No malice or aggression in either one.

You don’t gain respect by ruling with an iron fist. Look at rugby and soccer where the players have a lot more respect for umpires. They can touch a guy on the arm, no big deal.

Afl treating the players like school kids as usual

The AFL are so compromised. These two imbeciles didn't just touch the Umpires (sacrosanct, dominus vobiscum), they pushed the Umpires. Phil Carmen would be saying , join the club you blokes.

Just on a side issue Cripps indicated in "On The Couch" by his answer to a direct question, on last year's game, from Lyon, i think , about whether or not Hogan broke his jaw,  said that there was slight break in his jaw last year. The question still remains, when.........

HEAVEN OR HELL by The Oracle

Clashes between Melbourne and St Kilda are often described as battles between the forces of heaven and hell. However, based on recent performances, it’s hard to get excited about the forthcoming match between these two sides. It would be fair to say that, at the moment, both of these teams are in the doldrums. The Demons have become the competition’s slow starters while the Saints are not only slow to begin, they’re not doing much of a job finishing off their games either. About the only th

    THE BLOW by Whispering Jack

Narrm’s finals prospects took a crushing blow after the team’s insipid performance at Optus Stadium against a confident Waaljit Marawar in the first of its Doug Nicholls Round outings for 2024.  I use the description “crushing blow” advisedly because, although the season is not yet at it’s halfway mark, the Demons have now failed abysmally in two of their games against teams currently occupying bottom eight places on the ladder.  The manner in which these losing games were played out w

HALF FULL by KC from Casey

It was a case of the Casey Demons going into a game with a glass half full in their match up against the Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields on Saturday. As the list of injured and unavailable AFL and VFL listed players continues to grow and with Melbourne taking all three emergencies to Perth for the weekend on a “just in case” basis, its little brother was always destined to struggle. Casey was left with only eight AFL listed players from who to select their team but only two - an out-of-form

GAMEDAY: Rd 10 vs West Coast

It's Game Day and the Demons have returned to the site of their drought breaking Premiership to take on the West Coast Eagles in what could very well be a danger game for Narrm at Optus Stadium. A win and a percentage boost will keep the Dees in top four contention whilst a loss will cast doubt on the Dees flag credentials and bring them back to the pack fighting for a spot in the 8 as we fast approach the halfway point of the season.

    WARNING by William from Waalitj

As a long term resident of Waalitj Marawar, I am moved to warn my fellow Narrm fans that a  danger game awaits. The locals are no longer the easybeats who stumbled, fumbled and bumbled their way to the good fortune of gathering the number one draft pick and a generational player in Harley Reid last year. They are definitely better than they were then.   Young Harley has already proven his worth with some stellar performances for a first year kid playing among men. He’s taken hangers, k
