Speaking to a Richmond supporter about hardwicks change from 2016 and 2017. He stated that Hardwick was told he micromanaged the game too much.

He changed his style in 2017 and told the players they made this grade because they were elite players. Go out and trust your instinicts, he also allowed the line coach’s to worry about the small things rather than him.

It was obvious last week that we are playing to instructions not instincts.

correct wolfgang.  goodwin is a #$%#@!@# idiot.

We’re rubbish but geezus we got murdered by the umps. How many good tackles to be not get rewarded for.

This happens so often to us Cards i would rather just pressure the carrier with quick runners who when they get the pill are able to get away from most opponents and go manic up the field and find an opponent with good finishing skills by foot and/or kick long goals from around 50 a la the Hawks.

The umps are under instruction by the AFL to have a fast moving / attractive looking game and to keep the game moving the umps refuse to pay many legit tackles, even when the ball is disposed of incorrectly in the tackle.

Recruit the player and train the existing ones to pressure the carrier in other ways so they keep their feet and are able to run off etc.  Recruit and train in a way that suits the style the AFL are rewarding (or not so as in the case of legit tackles / holding the ball).  Clarko has already been doing this for years IMO with great success.

Tackling differential tells you everything you need the know about what this game means to both clubs.

One club is bad and doesn't care. One club is terrible but do care. As it goes with this sport, the one that cares and gives more effort will win.

for those not able to be here, all we need is for some one to centre the ball, turn it over, and then co an earful from the coach. We will have then completely returned to the Neeld and Cale Morton era

Gawn's tap work has been excellent but his handballing and contesting around the ground has looked tired and half-arsed. For a guy who talks up his leadership, yet another example of our poor leadership.

Jones has tried his heart out but panics in critical moments. That punch over the line is the perfect example and there were numerous last week.

As for the rest of the team, they are so low on confidence that they fumble almost everything and our forward line continues not to function. I'd be trying to isolate Hogan or Tom McDonald one out.

We're also far too predictable at stoppages. Viney and Petracca can't come back quick enough.

Sums up our on-field leadership. The talented kids come in and have the enthusiasm and team-first ethic drilled out of them at this club and become battlers just trying to hold their spot instead of playing as part of a team.

Spargo has been good on debut. If only the senior players shared his hunger and drive. Some things never change at this club.

What a load of [censored], Goodwin won 10 games last year, Neeld didn’t do that in3 seasons.  Yes we’re not playing well, we’re no longer an embarrassment to the AFL as we were under Neeld.

Agreed.

we have trained for the contested brand/ pressure footy and the AFL have changed the ‘interpretation’. We look like we are still playing ‘our way’ inside of adapting.

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,
