Apparently there was a poll by a Dees forum on Facebook asking supporters who should play against West Coast out of Pedersen or Weideman.

Pedersen was chosen by 70% of supporters.

It merely confirmed my long-held views.  Most Melbourne supporters are clueless about footy.

I read a stat recently that stated 70% of people are dumb.

You mean most supporters full stop right?

Want to see him holding some contested marks yet to show what he can do in this regard.

Weid took 4 contested marks on the weekend. That was the most of anyone on the ground, and more than Hogan has taken in any match this year (his best is 3). No wonder the club are so bullish about him being a dominant aerial threat in the future. He's still got a ton of development ahead of him and he's already able to clunk them!

Great to see Weid show some of his talent on the weekend. Hopefully he keeps up that form and doesn't tire. He could be vital for our structure in finals.

It was the Deebrief Podcast page. Was gobsmacked by that result.

I'm sceptical but looking forward to being proven wrong!

Let's see who he plays like...

Thats the whole problem with the discussion on Weid. We're not playing him looking for potential on Sunday he's got a mans job to fill and we need him to fill it. I dont care what he's going to be like in one or two years time we need what he's got NOW....and is he big enough to bring it like there's no tomorrow. . I think I have too many memories of Morton, Gysberts, Cook and Watts  and waiting for the day they fill out and step up. We all know now, with the exception of a game here or there,  they never really  did.  None seemed to have the mongrel required at this level. Weid reminds me of them. I SO want to be wrong about the weid...and will happily eat crow if I am. But I will judge him on what he brings on Sunday not who he might become.

....any follow up.

I thought he was terrific, the first half possesion wise, the second half for pressure and contest. I believe we have a potentially very special player coming through. Be patient, you non believers, he will reward your patience.

Stuie is an admin of one of these Facebook groups.  That should answer any question somebody might have about the level of intelligence going around on Facebook.

I assume however that you don’t put yourself in that 70% Pro Dee.

I know nothing about Facebook surveys but out of interest, were you one of the clueless fools that continuously bagged Frost?

Lol... fair enough. Happy to eat a little crow but not the whole bird. Yet. def saw some really good signs, especially in the first half. To be clear . I’d love him to be the gun so many think he will be...but Sunday’s game didn’t quite have me fully changing camps. Yet.

In fairness, I don’t believe any of Frost’s supporters ever said he’d be a “gun”, we just couldn’t understand why so many continually bagged him and stated he wasn’t even AFL standard.  Unbelievably early call for someone with so many attributes.

Most supporters in general, of all clubs in all sports, I think you’ll find.

My view on Frost is the same as Simon Goodwin's.  He was a last resort, which is why he spent most of the year at Casey.

He's playing well and as long as he plays within his many limitations he'll walk off the ground having played his role.

I don't see him as a long-term solution.  And I doubt my mate Goody does either.

I have no idea what you're trying to say but what's that little squiggle after the 7 and the 0? Seriously cool! Like an old man wearing glasses or something. Loving it. Anyone know where I can find one?

Yes RJ

I acknowledged his outperformance of my expectations earlier in this thread #354

I think it was a promising performance, showed a bit in the contests, but disposal and sticking marks needs improvement.

Have another look at the replay - great fist half but his second half was woeful, slipped, fell over, missed tackles, overan the ball & was generally a liability.

You can see it here.

He's been given good experience over three years with consecutive games.

He's just young and some supporters are either just impatient or can't judge talent.

I was the one that started this thread at he beginning of the season so I’m naturally curious about his development.

I think we always knew he wasn’t going to be like Hogan making an immediate impact but there have been moments where he shows his potential. I actually didn’t realise he took 4 contested marks on the weekend, that’s a very good returnsnd he could’ve had more (there were a few he got a good piece of and just fumbled at the end).

As a high draft pick people are always going to be impatient, but fact of the matter is that we’re in a luxurious position where we can allow him to naturally develop without pressure as opposed to how we’ve treated almost every other high draft pick in the past.

My problem is I don't think the faith in Oscar is being repaid. If we are putting together a backline from a healthy list, I don't know if either is in it.

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,
