Good legs in him for sure, but he has dad's preying mantis arms.

Wiry type, and still goes in when required. The sort of player who should be a classic late developer due to his small size.

I'm surprised that in the 8 weeks or so we last saw him playing that that much muscle development is possible (assuming the player is not decked in red and black).  How much time would a player have to spend in the team to achieve a big difference in 8 weeks?

And why can't it happen during the season?

Stretch is a renowned good trainer and prepare himself well. He is in ripping knick!

If you look back at last years pre season pics you will see he was pretty well developed then...it's not an 8 week occurrence but a work in progress.

8 weeks is ample time to jet jacked when diet and training is perfectly matched.

Some of the boys looking tip-top. Most notably would be Stretch and Maynard.

Balic has some scribble on his leg which might be new..?

Who is the guy in the 3rd last photo?   Is bending down.

Mitch King. Our backup ruckman for 2018

Gee I hope AVB can have an uninterupted preseason. He's looking a bit top heavy. Those legs are looking pretty thin.

If he can get his body right I hope he can really push for the third tall option fwd replacing Watts. Doesn't have Jack's foot skills/accuracy or maybe decision making but he can mark reasonably well and his work rate is A+ with excellent tackling.

He was such a small baby his mother was left without Stretch marks.

Good on Pedo for coming back early. I assume he isn’t obligated to.

And lovely to see Viney running! Hope that foot holds up.

Sitting up in the stands a little away from the ground on match days, I do find it difficult to tell players by their photographs.

So, help me out please: who's the Shakespearean actor in photo number three?

that's a nasty upper arm tumour you got there, red. i'd see a doc about that

Stretch is naturally quite lean, so he looks bigger/more muscular than what he really is if you were to see him in real life (it's an optical illusion).

Having said that he does look in ripping knick, and puts me to shame, lol. Onya Billy!

If he can end up as good as his dad I will be happy, hopefully he will be a mid bloomer.

Time in season cannot be dedicated to building size.  Playing, recovering, maintaining, etc is different to spending significant time and energy working on developing size and bulk.  Would expect the off season to be when these guys can accelerate their mass building

Part of the problem is that they are ALL huge when you look at them individually.  It's only when compared to some of his teammates that Billy looks skinny.  I'm always shocked during the pre-season when I run into players in the crowd and have to process again just how BIG these guys are.
