Less then 24 hours left in trade period.

Worth throwing Pick 47 to Hawthorn for this guy and see what we can do with him???

Depth but good depth.

Is he able to play the role we want Gaff for?

he can run and spread, but he can't kick for peanuts

I see he remains out of contract and potentially out the door at the Hawks.  Would he be a pre-season draft option?

He fits the right age profile in that he is only 22.

If he gets delisted, he can walk into the club of his choice.

No thanks: a list already clogged with them types...

We could sign him as a DFA couldn’t we..?

Regardless, while he’s no star, he has pace, endurance and can find the footy and whilst his disposal needs some work, he’d be very good depth at worst.

He’s definitely worth a look IMHO.

no no no

thought we had stopped recruiting smaller midfielders who butcher the ball

the kid can run but he's useless if he can't hit a team mate

I'm in a mood for speed this draft season.

But...

There's multiple speedy youngsters in this draft at a few different sizes and roles, and with more 'upside' as far as actually having a real impact with that speed.

Surpised Hartung hasn't retired from the neck strains of watching the ball go right back over his head. Though, the soreness would explain why he only manages 4 contested possessions and just over a tackle a game.

A young Isaac Smith, he ain't.

Talk about Hartung butchering the ball,Nat does a lot of that, perhaps we can give the Hawks Nat for a 4th rounder.

Trade Week is finished ENYAW. Sail away.

He’s soft and he can’t kick.

I'd only entertain the thought of adding him to the MFC if he applied to be the runner (unless of course Crossy is still our runner)

Poor man's Sam Blease

Sure you haven't got this back-to-front?

He's played an average of 15.75 games per year over four years, the first couple of which were with a Premiership team. I'm agnostic about whether we should add him to our list, but I think it might be fairer to suggest Sam Blease is a poor man's Billy Hartung.

I think T Viney and/or Taylor should talk to Jordan Lewis and get his opinion whether to get him as DFA ?

I was joking. He's pretty average though.

Trade week is over.

Who the [censored] is Nat?

Space after commas.

I often prefer 2 spaces,  much like after the full stop.

That way,  it's easier to read those long rambling rants.

The supersized paragraph is another odd offering - one starts reading the 8th or 9th line then one quickly realises that you've already read it.  Then,  you lose your spot and then give up.

He's still having digs at Nathan Jones, probably another still bitter about golden boy Jack being dumped by the club & taking it out on a bloke who really bleeds for us...... pathetic excuse of a 'supporter', wish we could dump a few them off on port adelaide along with Jack the way they are carrying on.

  • REPORT: Essendon

What were they thinking? I mean by “they” the coaching panel and team selectors who chose the team to play against an opponent who, like Melbourne, had made a poor start to the season and who they appeared perfectly capable of beating in what was possibly the last chance to turn the season around. It’s no secret that the Demons’ forward line is totally dysfunctional, having opened the season barely able to average sixty points per game which means there has been no semblance of any system from the team going forward into attack. Nevertheless, on Saturday night at the Adelaide Oval in one of the Gather Round showcase games, Melbourne, with Max Gawn dominating the hit outs against a depleted Essendon ruck resulting from Nick Bryan’s early exit, finished just ahead in clearances won and found itself inside the 50 metre arc 51 times to 43. The end result was a final score that had the Bombers winning 15.6 (96) to 8.9 (57). On balance, one could expect this to result in a two or three goal win, but in this case, it translated into a six and a half goal defeat because they only managed to convert eight times or 11.68% of their entries. The Bombers more than doubled that. On Thursday night at the same ground, the losing team Adelaide managed to score 100 points from almost the same number of times inside 50.

It’s Game Day, and the Demons are staring down the barrel of an 0-5 start for the first time since 2012 as they take on Essendon at Adelaide Oval for Gather Round. In that forgettable season, Melbourne finally broke their drought by toppling the Bombers. Can lightning strike twice? Will the Dees turn their nightmare start around and breathe life back into 2025?
