2017 Player Reviews: # 8 Heritier Lumumba

HERITIER WHO?

After he was restricted to five games in 2016 due to suffering from concussion, Lumumba did not return to pre-season training in November after being cleared to play by the club doctors, citing lingering concussion symptoms, The stand off persisted until he retired in December after settling his contract with the Demons. Unfortunately, this did not leave any room under AFL rules for the club to find a replacement for him on the team's playing lists.

A good time to close thread, perhaps... :o

We missed the finals by 2 goals with 1 player player less on our list than everyone else.

He wouldn't care. He'd actually think we were the lucky ones to have had him on our list at all.

Was a much better player when he was Harry O'Brien. Seemed always solid and reliable under Malthouse until he lamumbared himself and then us.

What he said.

One that we can all quickly forget............!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A truly great man.

Just ask him.

Was happy to give him the benefit of the doubt when he joined the Dees and convinced myself that people's criticisms of him were based more upon misconception, rather than who he actually was as a person or player.

I was wrong and screwed us.

Just another x pie that we picked that was not worth a bumper.

we fall for their cast offs every time.

FD can you please stay away from all at the CFC!

Good luck in whatever you decide not to do in the future.

We got more value out of Lucas Cook

Actually the prince played a few reasonable games in 2015. Lucas played zero. Still probably cost a third as much as the prince. So overall you are probably right.

A self-proclaimed 'prince' who betrayed OUR Club.  Shame! Shame! Shame

Lumumba should poll well for the best and fairest this year.......

We should never, ever trade with Collingwood!

Get off his back, he's an absolute champ !!

first year was okay, second year was poor, third year was non-existent

roos' biggest recruiting mistake across his coaching career?

Would've been better off with a straight swap for Varcoe in hindsight

Epic waste of space.  He deliberately waited until after final list lodgement before walking out on the club to prevent us from replacing him.  Pathetic conduct from a pathetic excuse for a human being.

It’s been a season of grit, growth, and glimpses of brilliance—mixed with a few tough interstate lessons. Now, with finals looming, the Dees head to Kardinia Park for one last tune-up before the real stuff begins.

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
