Nathan Jones is part of the agenda of a clique at Melbourne to push Jack on.

That and of itself is one thing, that Jack may move on, that he should move on or that he may need to move on  etc.

Its another thing to keep pushing the barrow ( at any opportunity ) and reveal your colours. Some would say they are pure Red and Blue.  Some might say the very same for Jack Watts

You talk absolute drivel sometimes, 'bub.  The above is based on nothing.  Jones didn't push any agenda - he was asked one question about Watts and answered it honestly.  Jones didn't bring it up, the media did.  Stop making up conspiracy theories.

Agree, its hard to discern the full dialogue between the players in this saga, with public comments we hear, and undoubtedly many private, comments, meetings, etc...

I know from working in the corporate sphere, when you let someone go, they've generally had several warnings, notifications, etc... before the axe falls. I've no doubt the FD have done likewise with Jack.

and sometimes someone just wants to axe someone who doesnt fit their 'world view"

If youve been around...youve seen this Im sure.

Egos only get bigger the higher up you get

In your opinion.  This situation has always been in Jack's hands.  Jones didn't throw him under a bus, nor did he pot him.

I love how we're looking at anyone to have a go at so you guys can make yourselves feel better about the situation.  Many of you continue to miss the point entirely - if Jack had done what was asked of him, then we wouldn't be in this situation.  Simple.

Of course it's my opinion.  Whose else's since I posted it?

I maintain you could be solidly in the keep Watts camp and still say Jones did not respond properly when interviewed.  He is never particularly good in the media, but knowing how to deal with curly questions is an important part of a Captain's role these days.

Pro/anti Watts is a  totally separate issue from Jones' interview technique.

Of course you could be, but I'm not one of them.  The question wasn't a curly one, nor did he answer it poorly.  We're just looking for something to complain about.

I agree with wat U r saying cards but I’m just sic of seeing other teams go past us.

Its bloody frustrating that it happens season after season.

In want us to be that team for once.

But have they buddy? I've said it a couple of times this season, hearing PJ and Mahns speak we are now a destination club. Agents call us and offer players to play at MFC, they don't laugh when Mahns calls them, they call us.

We then choose the players we want as long as we are happy to pay the $ they are after.

The players mentioned play well every week? Dont have weaknesses?  Are you watching or dreaming? You can give your all and play a bad game application is part of the equation .

I never said players don't have weaknesses. Don't make stuff up because it suits you.

The players I mentioned give their all every time they run on to the ground. Did you want to dispute that?

Same can't be said for Jack.

The  fact that we are 120 pages of discussion, much of it hysterical and based on little is telling.

About whether  to keep or trade an outside flanker.

It says a lot about us as a supporter group.

Anxious, fearful, neurotic.

This is not how good clubs operate.

Currently trailing the Lever thread by 20 pages, but this one will easily pass it once its announced Watts is gone.

I am looking forward to the hilarious meltdowns.

    DEFUSE THE BOMBERS by Meggs

Last Saturday’s crushing loss to Fremantle, after being three goals ahead at three quarter time, should be motivation enough to bounce back for this very winnable Round 5 clash at Windy Hill. A first-time venue for the Melbourne AFLW team, this should be a familiar suburban, windy, footy environment for the players.   Essendon were brave and competitive last week against ladder leader Adelaide at Sturt’s home ground. A familiar name, Maddison Gay, was the Bombers best player with

    BLOW THE SIREN by Meggs

Fremantle hosted the Demons on a sunny 20-degree Saturdayafternoon winning the toss and electing to defend in the first quarter against the 3-goal breeze favouring the Parry Street end. There was method here, as this would give the comeback queens, the Dockers, last use of the breeze. The Melbourne Coach had promised an improved performance, and we did start better than previous weeks, winning the ball out of the middle, using the breeze advantage and connecting to the forwards.

    GETAWAY by Meggs

Calling all fit players. Expect every available Melbourne player to board the Virgin cross-continent flight to Perth for this Round 4 clash on Saturday afternoon at Fremantle Oval. It promises to be keenly contested, though Fremantle is the bookies clear favourite.  If we lose, finals could be remoter than Rottnest Island especially following on from the Dees 50-point dismantlement by North Melbourne last Sunday.  There are 8 remaining matches, over the next 7 weeks.  To Meggs’

    DRUBBING by Meggs

With Casey Fields basking in sunshine, an enthusiastic throng of young Demons fans formed a guard of honour for the evergreen and much admired 75-gamer Paxy Paxman. As the home team ran out to play, Paxy’s banner promised that the Demons would bounce back from last week’s loss to Brisbane and reign supreme.   Disappointingly, the Kangaroos dominated the match to win by 50 points, but our Paxy certainly did her bit.  She was clearly our best player, sweeping well in defence.

    GARNER STRENGTH by Meggs

In keeping with our tough draw theme, Week 3 sees Melbourne take on flag favourites, North Melbourne, at Casey Fields this Sunday at 1:05pm.  The weather forecast looks dry, a coolish 14 degrees and will be characteristically gusty.  Remember when Casey Fields was considered our fortress?  The Demons have lost two of their past three matches at the Field of Dreams, so opposition teams commute down the Princes Highway with more optimism these days.  The Dees held the highe

    ALLY’S FIELDS by Meggs

It was a sunny morning at Casey Fields, as Demon supporters young and old formed a guard of honour for fan favourite and 50-gamer Alyssa Bannan.  Banno’s banner stated the speedster was the ‘fastest 50 games’ by an AFLW player ever.   For Dees supporters, today was not our day and unfortunately not for Banno either. A couple of opportunities emerged for our number 6 but alas there was no sizzle.   Brisbane atoned for last week’s record loss to North Melbourne, comprehensively out

    GOOD MORNING by Meggs

If you are driving or training it to Cranbourne on Saturday, don’t forget to set your alarm clock. The Melbourne Demons play the reigning premiers Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields this Saturday, with the bounce of the ball at 11:05am.  Yes, that’s AM.   The AFLW fixture shows deference to the AFL men’s finals games.  So, for the men it’s good afternoon and good evening and for the women it’s good morning.     The Lions were wounded last week by 44 points, their highest ever los

    HORE ON FIRE by Meggs

The 40,000 seat $319 million redeveloped Kardinia Park Stadium was nowhere near capacity last night but the strong, noisy contingent of Melbourne supporters led by the DeeArmy journeyed to Geelong to witness a high-quality battle between two of the best teams in AFLW.   The Cats entered the arena to the blasting sounds of Zombie Nation and made a hot start kicking the first 2 goals. They brought tremendous forward half pressure, and our newly renovated defensive unit looked shaky.

    REMATCH by Meggs

The Mighty Demons take on the confident Cats this Saturday night at the recently completed $319 million redeveloped GMHBA Stadium, with the bounce of the ball at 7:15pm. Our last game of 2023 was an agonisingly close 5-point semi-final loss to Geelong, and we look forward to Melbourne turning the tables this week. Practice match form was scratchy for both teams with the Demons losing practice matches to Carlton and Port Adelaide, while the Cats beat Collingwood but then lost to Essendo
