I don't see that at all.

Most oppos and commentators rate him highly.

The fact the Pies had Moore on him for a while yesterday a fair indication of how highly he's rated i would think.

Some of his defensive work has gone up a little this season as well if i'm not mistaken.

In the statistical player ratings i put up, he was up 20% on his 2022 season rating up to and including the match against the Blues.

The only area he's a bit off in (so far) is accuracy at goals vs the last few years.

Running @ 52% vs 2022 (62%) & 2021 (63%).

if he can get back to 21/22 accuracy he could potentially kick 60 plus!

It's extraordinary that the MFC has only 2 players that have kicked 500+ goals (Smith & Neitz).

Luke Breust has achieved that milestone for Hawthorn, along with 6 others.  And they're not a foundation club.

That said, we know our history post 1970 which explains why we have such deplorable records.

Most record breaking stats have happened after 1970.  Not all, most.

Requires him to get to 412. At 200 from 121 so far, that's around 250 games, which, at his current rate of game accumulation (debut R1, 2018) will be round about the 2028 granny, when he will be - very appropriately - 31.

Then a mere 17 more will take him onto the podium, past Robbo, in third place. He won't catch Neita or the Red Fox, though.

Really? That surprises me. He strikes me as a Gunston or Luke Bruest type player when the Hawks were up and about. Finished off the good work with such skill that you couldn’t really dislike him.

Odd little quirk - against Collingwood on monday Fritsch did not leave the ground - 100% game time. First time he has ever done that, with the usual figure being somewhere in the mid-80 range.

Suspicion - we've been working on his tank, and noticeably using him more up the ground (17 inside-50s in the previous 4 weeks, which is easily double his usual) but the purpose of that is that also he can be pulled back closer to goal and play maximum game time there when it suits the tactical needs.

The theory grows that the Demons are calmly using the whole season to sharpen their axe.

Opposition fans absolutely hate him. Which makes me love him even more.

Just keep reminding anyone who says he's a selfish [censored], that he kicked 6 goals in a grand final, and whoever plays for their team hasn't.

If I am not mistaken he was on the defensive corner of the centre square at that very vital final  centre bounce.  This must indicate that the match committee respect his defensive capabilities as well as his play reading skills.

His work against C’wood suggested to me that he is now very close to, if not at 100%, following the injury that nagged him earlier in the year.  A star at his craft.  Where would we be without him?  *

With the notable exception of the kick where he picked out Mason Cox at the Punt Road end, he is such an elite kick inside 50. I wish he could kick it to himself.

I know where you are coming from ... it's pretty obvious that oppo fans actually motivate him to do well. Our team, as a whole, seems to really support him when the crowd chips are down.

I was very impressed how he competed for the most part of the game against 203 cm Darcy Moore.

He made himself look taller and stronger, like a 2nd tall not just our superstar medium tall.

I posted last week I felt the real improvement in May Lever Salo Fritta and Gawny ( last quarter ) which did not fully show up in our final score vs the Blues. I also said that this was most important that it continue a la 2021 form for the rest of the season.

Mondays performance did nothing but prove that when we have 3 stars in defence plus Juddy Tommo and Riv and Hibbo all contributing scores like 6.8 and 9.8 are true reflections of our defence at its best.

Let us reflect and play 3 talls especially now that the tightest defence has returned for a possible 2023 assault from the rear again.

It just gives Maysie and Jake the ability to play their roles they are best suited to and to that is intercepting and controlling the game going forward, giving our forwards the best chances to kick a winning total, and they will at some point get it together.

Kossie Petty and Smithy in form might just prove the added depth to charge at the flag with a full throttle.

Fritta may have been asked to help counter the abscence of Clarry & Spargo (mostly Spargo) with kicks / connections inside also?

Pitty Melk wasn't able to be utilised here as his ability to offer that connection with last kick inside and even the odd goal around or just inside the arc is handy when on.

Also noticed Tracc is looking to connect inside/across using angles the last few weeks.

If he was able to ease off the last few steps and weight some of his kicks a little better out in front into space so others can run onto them.

Does the hard work to break away from oppos early, which is fabulous, but then continues full tilt mode from there.  This often sees him kicking over heads of intended target.

The overall effort has been first class from Tracc though and suspect he's upped his contested side somewhat during Clary's abscence?

The fatigue factor probably coming into play as a result re: finish & goal accuracy?

Has Clarry's abscence helped balance Tracc's game out a little?  His game felt a little too much 'outside' for mine prior.  Seems to have corrected this somewhat since but would need to check the contested numbers.

Hopefully this continues after Clarry's return as i reckon Clazz was probably suffering from burn out a little in his last 4 to 5 matches, with most of the heavy lifiting inisde work being left to him & Viney prior to injury.

JJ adds some extra grunt / extraction work around stoppages also and would love to see how we fair with him in (for Spargo?) for a while and see what that brings.

Many hands make slightly lighter work and the inclusion of JJ plus better balance from Tracc around stoppage work might help the three big guns (Viney, Clarry & Tracc) stay up & about for a decent tilt in the back half.
