Trade rumours

Taylor said on the road to the draft podcast (and I can't remember the exact words) that he was down on this draft but was starting to find about 30 he liked and had a few in the naughty corner. Might not be the top end quality or the back end depth but the 3 picks in the 2nd round should all be guys the recruiters like.

I'm also hoping the 2nd round is a good spot for those speed and skill types who don't quite crack the first round.

Ling, Richards and O'Brien are of the type, all likely in the 12-22 range. Petrucelle might get through to us.

Forever sadly

Its highly unlikely gc would trade pick 2 any. Its even more unlikely eith less the 48hrs to go hogan would suddenly request a trade

And even less likely that the MFC would accept it. We are making a tilt for finals next year and won't want to be bringing in top 10 draft picks that will be at least a couple of seasons away from providing much in the way of benefits.

It is too late for that, all the trades over the next 2 days are all in the works by now, you cant get a A grade player without weeks of talks, lever took Months to swing, stars don't move or clubs don't trade them without a fight in a day

It depends who we've kept under wraps for the last few weeks. ;)

Part of feeling the Hogan trade may still be an option and I acknowledge it is still only a remote possibility is that Melbourne , Freo and Hogan May have known about this for some time. If so the targets for those picks may have already been identified.

Good luck to him. Port play a hard, fast, contested style of football. Jimmy Toumpas comes to mind. Obviously with less fanfare. Has he been delisted by Port now?

Cheers billyb. I'm an avid collector of utterances that have or will only ever be spoken once by a single individual among many many billions over the entire course of human history back to the advent of language and through to our species' inevitable extinction.

Yeah that was lever no one else, that's done

Lever wasn't kept under wraps because he wanted to move. I wouldn't mind betting that was leaked by either Lever's management or even Adelaide.

We're very good at keeping thing in house and it wouldn't surprise me if we had maintained contact on the DL with a contracted player.

We'll see. Maybe, maybe not.

Still clubs don't let star go easily, you still need to deal with the club, there is no time left to swing s big fish

In response to your original reply Same stuff you are ETthe tradebreaker.

I thought a photo was more appropriate.

We don’t have picks 2 or 5 and North wouldn’t give up Ben Brown for either one.

Offer North pick 2 or 5 for Browne, see if they have enough time to respond in 36 hours?

Assuming the secretary of the North Melbourne FC types at 90 wpm, it will take all of 36 seconds to draft an email saying, 'Thank you for considering the North Melbourne Football Club with your generous offer. We have given it our due consideration, but our internal research indicates that you don't currently hold the picks outlined in your proposal. In this respect, we will have to graciously decline at this point in time.  Kind regards, NMFC.'

I assume you meant odd. I was replying to a previous poster who said we de didn’t have time for a trade, You offer a trade that gets their attention and it’s done. Try to keep up tradebreaker.

No need to be condescending. Either way, North would still laugh at that offer, therefore a trade wouldn’t happen.

    GOLDIE'S METTLE by Meggs

On a perfect night for football at the home of the Redlegs, Norwood Oval, it was the visiting underdogs Melbourne who led all night and hung on to prevail in a 2-point nail-biter. In the previous round St Kilda had made it a tough physical game to help restrict Adelaide from scoring and so Mick Stinear set a similar strategy for his team. To win it would require every player to do their bit on the field plus a little bit of luck.  Fifty game milestoner Sinead Goldrick epitomised

    REDLEG PRIDE by Meggs

Hump day mid-week footy at the Redlegs home ground is a great opportunity to build on our recent improved competitiveness playing in the red and blue.   The jumper has a few other colours this week with the rainbow Pride flag flying this round to celebrate people from all walks of life coming together, being accepted. AFLW has been a benchmark when it comes to inclusivity and a safe workplace.  The team will run out in a specially designed guernsey for this game and also the following week

    REDEEMING by Meggs

It was such a balmy spring evening for this mid-week BNCA Pink Lady match at our favourite venue Ikon Park between two teams that had not won a game since round one.   After last week’s insipid bombing, the DeeArmy banner correctly deemanded that our players ‘go in hard, go in strong, go in fighting’, and girl they sure did!   The first quarter goals by Alyssa Bannan and Alyssia Pisano were simply stunning, and it was 4 goals to nil by half-time.   Kudos to Mick Stinear.

    REDEEM by Meggs

How will Mick Stinear and his dwindling list of fit and available Demons respond to last week’s 65-point capitulation to the Bombers, the team’s biggest loss in history?   As a minimum he will expect genuine effort from all of his players when Melbourne takes on the GWS Giants at Ikon Park this Thursday.  Happily, the ground remains a favourite Melbourne venue of players and spectators alike and will provide an opportunity for the Demons to redeem themselves. Injuries to star play
