Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Lets see how Adelaide go dealing with Carlton today , serves then right, both arrogant pack of [censored] teams haggling over extra second rounders to the Gibbs deal.

As I said previously we are the best (and by far most reasonable) team to deal with in trade week. Other clubs have held out for something better or have been hypocritical in their demands when the shoe is on the other foot

no wonder those bastards lick their lips when we come knocking

Supposedly the deal has been agreed over night

I would be happy to trade 29 and 36 (or 47) for Kennedy if by some miracle Carlton cannot get their act together and he is desperate to leave GWS.

Gibbs is now a Crow - they paid two first rounders for him and a swap of other picks.

If anyone thinks we overpaid for Lever, then the Crows have wildly overpaid for Gibbs.  At least Lever is 21 - Gibbs is 29 and won't have the longevity that Lever will have for us.  Puts our deal in perspective.

Well said, couldn't agree more.

Seems a ridiculous deal to me

2 first rounders for Gibbs?  fook me!  at 29 not too many years left

they have learnt a harsh lesson from last year, Gibbs could have been the difference for them this year

I see Blues are giving next years 2nd round pick so if they are poor again that could be around 24 ish.  and if crows are high could be

eg, 16 --> 24 which isnt that bad

10 and 16 for Gibbs.... thats effectively the same price we paid for Lever. (albeit our 1st round next year being ~12-17 hopefully)

I can't work out what Adelaide are doing in this post season trading period!

The Gibbs deal is no different to the Lever deal.  If a club sees something they want, they just get it done.  I'm not saying they will sell the farm to get it done, but are willing to pay what would appear to be slightly "overs".

I bought a house last year, paid about $11k more than I wanted to, but I wanted the place, it still fitted in my budget, so I just got the deal done.  If I didn't, I would've missed it.  I have no regrets.

Again I think it is wait and see, as with all trades. Does he push them over the hump into a flag? If yes then I don't think they have.

If they fall away, lose Sloane next year then they probably have.

Trades and drafting are a hindsight business for mine.

Adelaide think they are very close to a flag in 2018 or 19. That's why they paid 2 x 1st rounders for Gibbs. An A grade mid arguably could get them there. Most coaches and FDs in that frame of mind don't think more than 12 months ahead. Calton are looking longer term, so those picks are gold for Bolton.

Still think we did remarkably well with Lever

Gibbs contracted (SOS expect extra value) Lever was uncontracted ... should have held firm like Carlton did and they have shown they would buckle

In saying that, the reason Adelaide may have buckled so willingly to Carlton (over this deal) is because of how much they bent us over with Lever. Adelaide have 2 first round picks next year (theirs and ours), so they wouldn't in their wildest dreams of ever thought we would hand over our first pick. They may have looked at it like that. Gibbs will improve them this year, and next year they still have two first round picks to use.

Correct.

based on 2017 results trade is

Crows - Gibbs, 22, 40 & 77

Blues 10, 16, 37 & 73.

Totally on the money KDA. They received an unexpected bounty and were happy to let it go because they know Carlton are hard nosed

    GAMEDAY: Rd 07 vs Richmond

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

    OOZEE by The Oracle

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh

It didn't last long, ended up a reasonable session weather wise.  Light duties, BBB, rehab Farris-White, Melky, Salem and Spargo, all with private trainers. They are all playing soccer, huge amount of noise. 36-40 (difficult to get a count) in the main squad, biggest I've seen it in ages. Choco is barking out the orders. Goody has intense body language as he observes. Bowey in a lime green cap (no contact), and in the sim

    ICEBREAKER by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons have broken the ice for season 2024 with a pulsating come-from-behind victory over Port Melbourne in which it took the lead for the first time at the halfway mark of the final quarter. The game played in mild Autumn conditions in neutral territory at Kinetic Park, Frankston, never reached great heights in standard but it proved gripping in character at the end at the Casey Demons overcame the Borough to win by 15 points after trailing badly early in the second half.  P
