Recommended Posts

There has been an influx of new members lately due to our increased presence on Social Media so I thought I would start a new thread for the new people to say hi and be warmly greeted by everyone.

So hello to all the new Demonland members. It's a great time to get on board and discuss the Dees with other Demon fans.

Are we planning a Demonland party after we win the flag this year?

We're not allowed to win the flag this year. A mate of 20+ years has organised his wedding on Grand Final day. Who does that?!

Purposely oppted for a first WE in October wedding for that very reason a number of years ago (plus not wanting distracted guests).

This year our anerversary falls mid week closest to the GF WE.  Hawthorn supporting missus wants to have a WE away for the anerversary, so I stratically pushed back the WE away to the one after the GF.

Please use correct punctuation and spelling. Do not at any time say anything negative about Jack Watts or Oscar Mac.

Do not critisise Saty. Respect your elders. And take every opportunity to take the [censored] out of anyone. Welcome newbies.

They can criticise all they like, I blithely ignore them, it is only entertainment after all, isn't it?

I could argue a case about the lawyer statement

Are the bolded bits rules? If so they must be the most frequently broken rules in all of Christendom!

My suggestions?

  1. Please provide some inkling of a source for any rumor, particularly in the upcoming trade season.
  2. Feel free to use riddles
  3. Rumors are fun. Don't hold back (but please refer to point 1)
  4. If posting on a Changes threads, please make a distinction between who you think should be selected and/or dropped and who you think the match committee will actually pick and/or drop

Welcome all.

I've been lurking here for years so not a new member as such, but I've only started posting on a regular basis in the last few months, so I guess in that respect may appear to be new to all the forum vets.

So, erm...  Hi!

I attended an 80th birthday party on GF day last year.

The plot twist is that it was in Melbourne. The party was held at a church so me and a select group of others conspired to duck out and watch the second half at the vicar's house next door.

By the time the final siren went, the select group had grown to 20 people crowded into his living room.

We headed out after and got overly refreshed with many Bulldog fans.

Don't consider it a lost cause. Just find an accomodating vicar.

Someone who has surrendered to the new missus prior to marriage.

Can only do further downhill from here.

New members always seem reluctant to post. Wonder why that is. Its only an anonymous online forum. No teeth here.

coooooeeeeee!

    GOLDIE'S METTLE by Meggs

On a perfect night for football at the home of the Redlegs, Norwood Oval, it was the visiting underdogs Melbourne who led all night and hung on to prevail in a 2-point nail-biter. In the previous round St Kilda had made it a tough physical game to help restrict Adelaide from scoring and so Mick Stinear set a similar strategy for his team. To win it would require every player to do their bit on the field plus a little bit of luck.  Fifty game milestoner Sinead Goldrick epitomised

    REDLEG PRIDE by Meggs

Hump day mid-week footy at the Redlegs home ground is a great opportunity to build on our recent improved competitiveness playing in the red and blue.   The jumper has a few other colours this week with the rainbow Pride flag flying this round to celebrate people from all walks of life coming together, being accepted. AFLW has been a benchmark when it comes to inclusivity and a safe workplace.  The team will run out in a specially designed guernsey for this game and also the following week

    REDEEMING by Meggs

It was such a balmy spring evening for this mid-week BNCA Pink Lady match at our favourite venue Ikon Park between two teams that had not won a game since round one.   After last week’s insipid bombing, the DeeArmy banner correctly deemanded that our players ‘go in hard, go in strong, go in fighting’, and girl they sure did!   The first quarter goals by Alyssa Bannan and Alyssia Pisano were simply stunning, and it was 4 goals to nil by half-time.   Kudos to Mick Stinear.

    REDEEM by Meggs

How will Mick Stinear and his dwindling list of fit and available Demons respond to last week’s 65-point capitulation to the Bombers, the team’s biggest loss in history?   As a minimum he will expect genuine effort from all of his players when Melbourne takes on the GWS Giants at Ikon Park this Thursday.  Happily, the ground remains a favourite Melbourne venue of players and spectators alike and will provide an opportunity for the Demons to redeem themselves. Injuries to star play
