Living on the coast would be appealing but Geelong itself is a [censored] hole of a place

Another day,  and no news.

Doubt Brown is coming to Melbourne, would have been confirmed by now.

I bet you're the person who sits in their car at the KFC drive thru, honking their horn because you've had to wait more than 5 minutes.

That’s just so that GWS can get more in return for Cameron and they have said all along that if they aren’t happy with the compensation pick that’s what they would do. The geriatrics want cameron and will do a deal.

Their members expect him to be at the geriatrics next season given its been made public. Don’t stress.

Geelong tried to blow GWS out of the water with a pretty massive deal. Glad to see GWS didn’t blink. A deal will be done.

With Daniher’s contract drawing band 1 compensation, the dollars speculated for a Brown deal to Melb are very favourable by comparison. Also sounds like Burgess has swung things in our favour & Brown is prepared to take slightly less to work with him.

Hungry Jacks, and massive lols!

The more gas, the longer the Brown thread.

Scientific fact.

Jeremy Cameron will get to the cats. The giants in my opinion have weighed the situation up and decided two later first rounders is a better net return than the compo pick. It’ll get done

Ben brown will 100% be a demon. 100% there is absolutely no doubt.

to be clear. Because clearly not everyone gets it..  I AM JOKING

Sorry Dr. Evil but you've proven yourself to be untrustworthy. Therefore I don't believe you are joking and are indeed 100% factual in your statement that Brown is coming. Happy days.

Also can you tell me where I can find some orange sherbet? I went across the street but couldn't find any.

It has its good and bad parts like everywhere else in the world. Labeling the whole town as that is off the mark.

Just received word Brown’s better than a 50/90 chance of coming.

Just have a piece of gum instead.

As for Brown, no news is not bad it’s just things still need to play out. If it’s between us and the bombers then surely they’ll have to pony up extra dough, hopefully we’re selling the better opportunity at finals.

In my surfing youth, Geelong was a nice place to drive towards from home in the SE suburbs of Melbourne, in my 351 GTHO (and Sandman before that). A quick feed, usually great hamburgers or a small pizza when these were made by great pizzariers in the Geelong hill strip, refuel at cheap prices, and off to the coast road for the waves, sands and sheilas.

Never thought the old Geelong was a bad place; it was usually a great place filled with great people. Cannot say that about the footy club down there - but that was winter and on the weekends, it was Mt Hotham or a home game at the 'G.

There were always good memories of Geelong as a town, a stop-over, a launching pad for some of my real interests 'back in the days...'

I hope Geelong has not deteriorated since then. In summer, it was a hub of sheer delight.

Footballers' salary would enable you to live in East Geelong on the waterfront of you chose to live in town - it's pretty nice there.

Bellarine is great - Queenscliff or Point Lonsdale.

Anyone know a good barber. Perhaps a number 2 buzz cut

I don’t want to get all biblical here, but is there a risk that his power will be lost if he loses his hair?

I'm struggling to think of anything less important than how Ben Brown chooses to wear his hair.

  • REPORT: West Coast

On a night of counting, Melbourne captain Max Gawn made sure that his contribution counted. He was at his best and superb in the the ruck from the very start of the election night game against the West Coast Eagles at Optus Stadium, but after watching his dominance of the first quarter and a half of the clash evaporate into nothing as the Eagles booted four goals in the last ten minutes of the opening half, he turned the game on its head, with a ruckman’s masterclass in the second half.  No superlatives would be sufficient to describe the enormity of the skipper’s performance starting with his 47 hit outs, a career-high 35 possessions (22 of them contested), nine clearances, 12 score involvements and, after messing up an attempt or two, finally capping off one of the greatest rucking performances of all time, with a goal of own in the final quarter not long after he delivered a right angled pass into the arms of Daniel Turner who also goaled from a pocket (will we ever know if the pass is what was intended). That was enough to overturn a 12 point deficit after the Eagles scored the first goal of the second half into a 29 point lead at the last break and a winning final quarter (at last) for the Demons who decided not to rest their champion ruckman at the end this time around.

It's Game Day and the Demons have a chance to notch up their third consecutive win — something they haven’t done since Round 5, 2024. But to do it, they’ll need to exorcise the Demons of last year’s disastrous trip out West. Can the Dees continue their momentum, right the wrongs of that fateful clash, and take another step up the ladder on the road to redemption?
