Gee I have been very vocal won't make it etc etc, but never let it be said that I don't acknowledge a good performance, even a very good one! I thought today was Oscars best game for the club!! No ifs or but's he still bothers me and the jury from my piont of view is well and truly out but I must say..... Oscar, Very good game indeed!

arguably one of his best five games for the club...and he could very well be dropped due to team balance next week if gawn or spencer come back in

I'd guess Pedo would get the chop.

NO. still a way to go, He is an enigma though, and I think he will get it right, but I still cringe when he gets the ball, when I can relax when he has the ball, then I will cut him some slack. I'm not knocking him, but a work in progress, and whilw we are winning I am happy to play him.

Footnote: Enormous mark in the last quarter. He definitely has potential

He has extremes at both ends of the scale

some brilliant and some cringe worthy. The good tonight shows why we persist with him

Played well today and gets judged much more harshly than others in the team.  Got a lot of faith in O'Mac being a very good player for the club.

Well I'll be buggered.....

Still young will continue to make mistakes but doing well for a young kpp

Would still like to see him tried forward, something about him tells me it would be a successful move.  His brother cant play there thats for sure.

I feel for Oscar. He did well today in the second half but he's still not ready (imo) and he cops bulk grief from supporters because of it. I wasn't as wowed today with his game as others but was pleasantly surprised. Was he that good or have we set our expectations so low?

At half time today I was getting grumpy at him but there is no point in doing so I realise. He isn't picking himself each week and there is absolutely zero in reserve at present to see him come out. Good to see him up and about in the second half.

I think Gawn or Spence in next week will see big bro go back and the Oscar relegated but at least he will go back with some confidence.

Excited to see how he and the weid look in a coupla years time

Was just watching Steven May rag-dolling Hawks opponents with effortless tackles and I started wondering if Oscar could chuck on another 8 kilo he'd be the gorilla minder we need.

We need a heavy defender that is hard to move off the ball and I think it's time to grow one.

Oscar is the man I reckon.

Class act fence...

my boy o-hizzle made me proud today.

He is going to be a good player. He is just young, and with youth comes inconsistency. But I think he is doing a good job down back. There will be games where he doesn't look up to it, and games where he looks more than capable. Today we seen both varieties in the one game. Hopefully next year and beyond we start to see the sort of consistency that comes with more experience.

Nah, I reckon it's yet another soft effort from PF. The time to show Oscar some respect was before, when he was struggling a bit, rather than laying in to him excessively. Supporting players when they play well is the easy bit.

lol

Gotta give a man credit when he admits fault though.

Just putting my hand up. The only player I ever said will never ever make it. Jamar. 12 months after that, All Australian.

Young KPP take time and I do believe that he has been given games due to our lack of depth of tall backs. He played well in the second half. One part of his game I would like him to improve in  - and there is no better player to watch and learn from than Hibberd. Even when beaten on the lead or second to the ball, Hibberd will put body pressure on the opposition and make his opponent earn a mark - more often than not bringing him to ground. It is a fine line between body pressure and coming in late but OMac too often slows down to the contest once he is convinced his opponent will mark the ball and go into "corral mode" too quickly.  You need to make an opponent sweat a bit. He will learn.

Oscar still needs to come to terms with the speed of the game at AFL level. He is a little too slow at times, which causes him to panic and rush some things (like a couple of those kicks early in the game). He's still very raw and young (in terms of a KPP), so these things mistakes will happen (Weitering is no saint and he was #1 pick).

Like the rest of the team, he played much better in the second half. A good step forward and hopefully it does his confidence the world of good.

I thought Oscar was important in the first half when we were under pressure, he had 11 contested from his 18 possessions and went at 83% for the day.  Good to see the faithful cheer loudly when he took that great mark in the last, that can only be a confidence boost for the kid. Well played Oscar!!

Hopefully this was the break out game needed and his confidence sky rockets from here on.

Yelled at him in the first half.

Yelled for him in the second. (Sh*t I'm a contrarian)!

For a KPP of his size and age, he's way ahead of the curve, and always has been. Classic whipping boy status without an ounce of perspective or context from many posters. He's just gonna get better, and when TMac gets back down there as Gawn and Hogan come back, the brothers McDonald will become one of the great stories of the AFL over the coming years.

His 1st quarter was atrocious. He was good in the second half. Made key plays n looked organised.

The Dogs reigned supreme in 2018 with an inaugural AFLW premiership cup and the Demons matched this feat by winning the cup as the Season 7 2022 champions.Meggs wasn’t born when the Doggies won their first VFL premiership cup against the Demons in 1954. Covid prevented many Demons fans from legally witnessing the victorious 2021 AFL Grand Final cup performance between the Demons and the Bulldogs, but we all grin when remembering those magnificent seven third quarter goals.
