Hey if Nth lose it will be good to watch the game just to see Brad Scotts face. I hope the suns do win. Andrew Swallow in the crowd. Still cant believe he was dropped.

No Swallow guys on the field tonight.

Agree about Swallow. He might not be in career best form but he has been far from their worst, and not the one to blame for many of their losses. Chris Scott has a terrible record when it comes to managing his older players and leaders.

Seeing seat advertising at Docklands tonight that I never knew existed because there is usually a few people sitting on them.

Very bad game except for Ablett's dominance.

Time for some book reading methinks

It's worth watching just for the Ablett dominance.  Don't have any particular love for the bloke but I do love the way he has shoved it right up the anus of the footy media who had decided he should retire.

Fox must be licking their lips with all these idiotic scheduling decisions made by the brains trust at Seven; consistently choosing dud games as their free-to-air offering.

Think 7 picked well at this point. The Darby is terrible.

Dockers playing like a rabble, Eagles are skiing here again. Doesn't matter though, local bragging rights aside this match means nothing, the Power are going to bend the Eagles over next week.

Rubbish.

Excuses, even plausible ones like injuries are an avoidance of owning and talking responsibility for doing what's required to win.

Losing is the result of one team succumbing to discouragement and turning their focus from those opportunities to win, to justifying why it's ok to lose... aka excuses.

We didn't learn how to win after the Cats ran over us when Maxy went down, and as a result when it happened again two weeks later, the same result ensured. Instead of languishing the the comfort of a plausible excuse, "poor us Maxy went down", we should have taken responsibility to be ready should it happen again...

I'm not saying things don't go against you or the team, and injuries are one of these, but as soon as you accept these events as plausible excuses that justify losing, you set yourself up for mediocracy, and failure.

So, no excuses.

This game (Norf vs Suns) sets the high water mark for how many dubious frees can be paid in a team's forward line.

If Hogan ever gets as much help from umpires in a game as Ben Brown, he'll kick 10.

I would say our midfield and forwards lack of pressure.

I don't think our midfield lacks pressure.

But to my untrained eye the defence always looks a mess.

I can never work out modern day defence strategy though!!!

I stopped watching the game. But why are opposition supporters suddenly booing Gaz? I dont get it. I know carlton fans did it it the other week but it just doesnt make sense.

By the way the crowd ended up being 15,431. I know its a Saturday night and they are playing Gold Coat but seriously thats low.

Gaz 21 40 possession games...

Here's a stat for the stat hunters. Who was the last Demon to grab 40 touches? Another one... who will be next? I reckon Clarry does it at some point this year.

Bernie Vince had 40 touches a couple of seasons ago.

    WILDCARDS by KC from Casey

Casey’s season continued to drift into helplessness on Sunday when they lost another home game by a narrow margin, this time six points, in their Round 13 clash with North Melbourne’s VFL combination. The game was in stunning contrast to their last meeting at the same venue when Casey won the VFL Wildcard Match by 101 points. Back then, their standout players were Brodie Grundy and James Jordon who are starring in the AFL with ladder leaders, the Sydney Swans (it turned out to be their last

    LIFE SUPPORT by Whispering Jack

With Melbourne’s season hanging on a thread, Saturday night’s game against North Melbourne unfolded like a scene in a hospital emergency department.  The patient presented to the ward in a bad way. Doctors and nurses pumped life-saving medication into his body and, in the ensuing half hour, he responded with blood returning to his cheeks as he stirred back to life. After a slight relapse, the nurses pumped further medication into the bloodstream and the prognosis started looking good as the

GAMEDAY: Rd 15 vs North Melbourne

It's Game Day and it very well could be the last roll of the dice for the Demon's finals aspirations in 2024. A loss to the bottom side would be another embarrassing moment in a cursed year for the Dees whilst a win could be the spark they need to reignite the fire in the belly.

    THE HUNTER by The Oracle

Something struck me as I sat on the couch watching the tragedy of North Melbourne’s attempt to beat Collingwood unfold on Sunday afternoon at the MCG.    It was three quarter time, the scoreboard had the Pies on 12.7.79, a respectable 63.16% in terms of goal kicking ratio. Meanwhile, the Roos’ 18.2.110 was off the charts at 90.00% shooting accuracy. I was thinking at the same time of Melbourne’s final score only six days before, a woeful 6.15.51 or 28.57% against Collingwood’s 14.5.89

    FROZEN by Whispering Jack

Who would have thought?    Collingwood had a depleted side with several star players out injured, Max Gawn was in stellar form, Christian Petracca at the top of his game and Simon Goodwin was about to pull off a masterstroke in setting Alex Neal-Bullen onto him to do a fantastic job in subduing the Magpies' best player. Goody had his charges primed to respond robustly to the challenge of turning around their disappointing performance against Fremantle in Alice Springs. And if not that, t
