Gus concussed again

No doubt there are better judges than me regarding the impact of a number of concussions within a short time frame, but I'm getting very nervous for the boy.

Is that confirmed somewhere?

Wait and see, but no, doesn't sound good.

If that is the case at mininium he should take the rest of 2017 off.

In fact he should probably give the game away.

there is more to life than football and having a scrambled brain does not help.

Off the ball hit on Gus apparently.

Wasn't that the cause of one of the concussions last year as well?

OD, I don't want to add up 2 + 2 and get 5 but in a Casey thread I'm sure someone mentioned Gus appeared out of sorts/overly angry (forgive the guessing re exact words) .I did wonder what role a number of knocks plays on awareness, mood etc. Again, I'm not wanting to jump the gun here.

The ball got kicked into the back of his head and flattened him I think that was the worst one.

If everyone did that thenSelwood and Lewis would have retired by 21

lets just leave it to the doctors to see when he's right to play

Sadly it is starting to look familiar RtG.

I hope it is not the case but from what we know now about concussion injuries the end might be near.

And no one knows how they will be in 20 years DD.

You only get one brain and the so called experts are we know learning on the run with concussion.

Tom Bugg starring tonight.  Speculation on Casey radio is that he was dropped from the senior team because of his over use of handball (16 of 22 disposals) against Freo..

But if after 15 years Lewis is happy to play on I don't see why Angus would be overly concerned if the docs aren't.

Bugg 4 goals already, in everything. Perhaps he's one of those players who stars at this level, but doesn't quite make the AFL grade.

Of course the players want to play on they always do.

Simply because they did in the past does not make it right.

Greg Willaims played on and he has big problems as have a number of others.

we need to be way more cautious than in the past.

I'm not using the past as an example. I'm using Lewis as of right now. If there was cumulative effect or any worry re brain injury surely he would not play on.

Too much hysteria re concussion imo. We've gone from not caring at all to way over the top

Casey 30 points up at 3/4 time after 3 straight for Nth Ballarat to finish the quarter..  Commentators saying Kent has had no influence.

It should be mandatory for Gus to wear a helmet whenever he stepped on to a footy field.

Every little bit of protection helps

Sorry but I do not agree IMO you cannot be over the top with concussion injuries (no pun intended)

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
