An intentional strike to the head with low impact is a two week ban, down to one with a guilty plea.

IMO there is far too insufficient evidence for Lewis to go. Cripps played on without any issue (I don't think, anyway) so unless he has a crack at Lewis, how can anyone know exactly what he did (e.g. was it an open palm or a fist, where exactly did it hit him, etc.).

Hogan I'm less confident on. I'm not sure he can escape it being intentional or to the head, which is the end of the debate even if it's low impact. Looked to me like Rowe milked it but I'm not confident the MRP will consider it anything other than intentional or to the head.

Hogan's aggression can be very frustrating to watch. He needs to learn how to control and harness it.

At one point today he missed a mark and Weideman mopped it up and kicked a goal. As Weideman went to high-five Hogan, he shoved him in the chest - presumably out of frustration for missing the mark. For a split second I chuckled, then found myself infuriated he did it to a teammate, especially a second year player.

He needs to learn how to cool his aggression and focus. Viney did it a few years ago, he's stated it in several interviews, and his game went to a new level.

If I'm thinking about the same goal (fourth quarter), I saw Hogan congratulating Weideman, not berating him.

Ignition you are being harsh on Hogan here. Hogan had a smile on his face when he gave a big shove to Weid. He was pretty excited for him and in no way did i see that as someone venting his frustration at a teamate.

Hogan was an off the ball soft punch in the jaw. Will be one week for sure

lewis not as clear cut. A chance to get off I'd reckon.

Yeah it was the fourth quarter one.

I haven't seen it since the game. Imay have got it on the wrong angel. I hope you're right. I'll watch the game again tomorrow.

That would explain it. Sorry I saw it from the other end of the ground and didn't see Hogan's face. I retract my comment.

You would actually be a prime candidate as an MRP adjudicater.

Seriously.

I was vocal because he is a repeated offender time and time again and missing crucial games like today is not ideal. Bernie was missed today.

Get your facts right before talking trash.

So basically what you're saying, is that it is ok to throw a stupid hit off the ball and run the risk of a suspension, just so long as it's your first offence?

And I'm the one talking 'trash'??

Lewis is as much of a leader as Vince is. If Vince should've known better last week, then Lewis should've known better today. Repeat offender or not.

Good poster is DD36 but when it comes to discussion about this type of stuff he fails miserably.

I have gone back and watched the footage and i first have to say apologies to Clint Biz but i think Hogan is in trouble now. When i saw it on tv it looked like he just pushed him with an open palm with a bit of force.

I still think Jordan Lewis has nothing to worry about. The footage is actually quite poor but i personally  think Cripps milked it. Didn't go off the ground and kept playing. Unlike Wright last week who went off for a 20 minute concussion test.

Both were not in the category of missing one game of football. Hogan gave away a free kick, that's enough punishment.

Reading this thread i have no idea what will happen! :)

I'm sure the MRP have a spinning wheel which decides the penalty, so they won't know either until the wheel stops

^ It matters little whether the oppo player milked it or not..

If you hit a player in the head with enough force, you're going to cop a week.

Pretty simple.

If thats whats interpreted the how did Casboult only got a fine for his hit on Vlaustin who also was hit head first.

Casboult went to block a player, something that is legal to do in the game. He hit body on body as well as some contact to the head. His intent was to block the player.

Hogan and Lewis have no argument other than how forceful the contact was. The intent is a non-argument. Unless you think they were fly-swatting? Hogan is definitely gone, Lewis might get lucky.

They are completely different to Casboults bump.

The Lewis hit looked like it had nothing in it. Cripps got up ok but Jordy's bad record is his only concern

Haven't got a lot to defend Hogan. Looked like the Viney punch from last year and will get a week

Hogan one week. That's how they're treating head contact. Lewis I can't see enough. If they find a different angle and you see a clear pure shot to the head, same thing. But seems to me it wasn't that from an early look.

Who cares. Give them both a week, bring Pederson in to go around belting everyone next week just to send the marshmallows on here into absolute meltdown.

When I first saw the Hogan one I thought he got Rowe in the neck, and Rowe took a dive, but after watching it on tv I think Hogan will miss a week. I don't think Rowe took a dive either unfortunately.

Pederson to play next week.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
