Arrived 10 minutes late due to Bridge Rd Tram! Cool morning, no breeze, damp underfoot but no rain at the moment. All accounted for except Tyson, Kent and haven't noticed Garlett yet. JKH celebrating membership of the main group with flouerescent orange boots!

Rehab consists of Hannan, King, ANB & Filipovic... doing marking and ball handling under some pressure, with Crossy... Macca was here too for the marking. They are doing a lot of contact work with the tackle bags. All look close to joining main group

Main group involved in novel tackling activity now. Pairs on the ground, one with ball. Opponent has to pry the ball loose before the second whistle. Winner stays in. Nev was pretty good, so too Max

Drove (crawled) past on punt road at 9:14am. Centre lane. Bus blocked my view. There were some men running around who looked like footballers. They were kicking footballs. One was Daniel Corss. He had a red MFC shirt on.

Starting to get worried about Kent.

No news is sometimes bad news.

He is really important to our structure, but is constantly battling injury.

It is Friday 13th January you are worrying too much.

Just watched a very impressive full ground activity consisting of four teams (main group divided into teams of 9  - 10 players.) Two teams on at any one time, one attacking, one defending. Objective was to take the ball from deep in backline to a scoring opportunity at other end. All players had to take the game on... no prop and stop... Teams had to work the ball through by hand and foot, not too much run and carry. When each team exited the field they were required to sprint back to the defense goals by way of the boundary line. Goodwin would meet them there for observations about their previous work. Leaders in each group would also discuss strategies with team mates. Lewis, Jones and Gawn were driving their teams to 'win'

Don't players get rotated through the rehab group occasionally when it's their turn to be on a 'reduced load' ?

Judging from BM's list updates it didn't sound like the coaches were concerned with where Kent is currently at in the pre season.

Goodwin emphasized "composure under pressure" several times. Team activity continues between half forward lines. Basically keeping off, 7 defenders v 10 ball carriers. Quick rotation between teams. I've been here for an hour now and the intensity is relentless. We will have a very fit team come season opening. This is why the rehab group will have a lot of catching up to do

You're right but usually they at least do some lap running in the rehab group, he was apparently just walking the other day so that's a little more conserning.

Tom McDonald and Pederson report to Crossy and his Minions for a marking routine with pressure from tackle bags. Oliver walks to tent. Rehab group have packed up. Main group divided amongst assistant coaches for in-close handball drills

Oliver back in the fray. Trengove definitely moving better than last year... mobility back and foot skills good. Jetta cops one in the thigh. Melksham has looked sharp today. Big Max has outstanding stamina and running ability in these exercises.

Hunt seems to have a good left foot, just went for a right foot torp and shanked it! Trengove working with the elastic straps again. Pederson very accurate from all angles. Bernie slots a long one

There is a stiff breeze now, making goal kicking all the more difficult. Lewis continues to excel, Pederson hits the ball hard and has a fine technique so is still able to score the maximum while others get too much height in the conditions (Joel Smith being one of the latter)

Brilliant WW. Love it. Thanks.

From this and other reports from training this pre season it seems Goodwin's emphsais on quick ball movement is very apparent. if they get it right (and don't lose their defensive pressure) we could rack up some pretty big scores, at least early on when we might catch some sides unaware

Hulett back on. Melksham talking tactics with Salem. Petracca to Weiderman nice play which leads to Harmes slotting one from 40 with everyone looking on. Time for me to depart. Cheers all

Issue is he hasn't even been in the rehab group, he hasn't been present at training at all. Guessing he stayed over in WA longer with his approved leave or is off in a gym somewhere following a rehab program.

Looks pretty concerning from that report and footage.

Fingers crossed it not too serious.

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

    TRAINING: Monday 16th December 2024

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to
