Drove (crawled) past on punt road at 9:14am. Centre lane. Bus blocked my view. There were some men running around who looked like footballers. They were kicking footballs. One was Daniel Corss. He had a red MFC shirt on.

Starting to get worried about Kent.

No news is sometimes bad news.

He is really important to our structure, but is constantly battling injury.

It is Friday 13th January you are worrying too much.

Just watched a very impressive full ground activity consisting of four teams (main group divided into teams of 9  - 10 players.) Two teams on at any one time, one attacking, one defending. Objective was to take the ball from deep in backline to a scoring opportunity at other end. All players had to take the game on... no prop and stop... Teams had to work the ball through by hand and foot, not too much run and carry. When each team exited the field they were required to sprint back to the defense goals by way of the boundary line. Goodwin would meet them there for observations about their previous work. Leaders in each group would also discuss strategies with team mates. Lewis, Jones and Gawn were driving their teams to 'win'

Don't players get rotated through the rehab group occasionally when it's their turn to be on a 'reduced load' ?

Judging from BM's list updates it didn't sound like the coaches were concerned with where Kent is currently at in the pre season.

Goodwin emphasized "composure under pressure" several times. Team activity continues between half forward lines. Basically keeping off, 7 defenders v 10 ball carriers. Quick rotation between teams. I've been here for an hour now and the intensity is relentless. We will have a very fit team come season opening. This is why the rehab group will have a lot of catching up to do

You're right but usually they at least do some lap running in the rehab group, he was apparently just walking the other day so that's a little more conserning.

There is a stiff breeze now, making goal kicking all the more difficult. Lewis continues to excel, Pederson hits the ball hard and has a fine technique so is still able to score the maximum while others get too much height in the conditions (Joel Smith being one of the latter)

Brilliant WW. Love it. Thanks.

From this and other reports from training this pre season it seems Goodwin's emphsais on quick ball movement is very apparent. if they get it right (and don't lose their defensive pressure) we could rack up some pretty big scores, at least early on when we might catch some sides unaware

Issue is he hasn't even been in the rehab group, he hasn't been present at training at all. Guessing he stayed over in WA longer with his approved leave or is off in a gym somewhere following a rehab program.

Looks pretty concerning from that report and footage.

Fingers crossed it not too serious.

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,

    GALLANT by KC from Casey

The world “gallant” is not one that is readily acceptable to losing teams in our game of football so when it was used in the context of the Casey Demons’ loss to Sandringham in yesterday’s match at Casey Fields, it left a bitter taste in the mouth.  The Demons went into the game against the St Kilda affiliated Zebras with the advantage of playing on their home turf (not that this has been a major asset in 2024) and with very little else going in their favour. The Saints have close to a full
