What really irritates me about these crap jumpers apart from representing the shade of Surrender is the simple fact that offten i have to double check to see if it is MY TEAM playing.

It dilutes the connection between the member and club even if only slightly. I find it offensive.

Would my family EVER think of altering the Family Tartan?

No.

As usual     It's all about money with the AFL and clubs

Most clubs bring out a clash jumper every year so supporters will buy the new design.    The AFL think that anything that bring money in is a good thing.

The only jumper I ever had was the one my mum knitted me back in the sixties which I wore with pride

I find the money grab insulting every year.   How much are supporters slugged for to buy jumpers?

As for the "clash" jumper..   What a load of crap by the AFL.....As I've said before I could tell the difference between teams on a bloody black and white TV.

i'd be surprised if the mfc made more than tuppence 'appeny profit on their clash jumpers. in fact their whole merchandise setup doesn't seem very professional tucked away in the almost inaccesible bowels of the mcg.

there is no reason they couldn't make better profits from multiple fashionable customised versions of the traditional jumpers or just straight out new original designs. they don't necessarily have to be ones worn on match days. in fact the whole merchandising approach needs a refreshing complete overhaul

Stewart_Fashion_Blue_Modern_Colours_Pure My family (fashion) tartan could be used as a clash jumper.

Incorrect.

Has no white.

Now if you were an ESSENDON supporter, it'd be fine.

Might have been an issue at the beginning of 2016 when Channel 7 didn't broadcast the footy in HD (for some mind boggling reason).

But they miraculously flipped the switch half way through the year. I really don't see TV viewers' confusion as a valid reason any more.

Just having a slight issue getting all the first names and a phone number, will report back when I can, will have to ensure I phrase my question correctly...make sure I include 'hate' for the sheer emotional impact

You have never heard or participated in a survey before Satyr?

What a strange comment even from you. I mean really.

I would think the large majority would hate that white guernsey.

I understand that we need a white guernsey as per the rules and it's fine I can live with that. What I can't live with is some absolutely disgraceful effort to design a clash guernsey. It is honestly laughable and whoever approved it should have a hard look at themselves.

What/who the 121?

No, that you somehow think liking or not a clash jumoer somehow dictates a persons inclination to sign.

They're mutually independent ideals.

Of those MFC mebers I know who are not on this forum/thread, 2 out of 2 = 100% hate white clash jumpers.

It really should be very easy. For clubs that don't clash witht he predominantly blue jumper of our traditional strip then we should be wearing that. That would be most clubs I would think. For clubs that do clash with the traditional strip (Blues, Dogs, Maybe Adelaide and West Coast) then we wear our alternate strip. The alternate strip could be as simple as reversing the blue and red, surely if you clash with Dark Blue then you don't with red!

Even more easy is for supporters to send that message to the club,AFL, and New Balance by not buying their white jerseys in any form and wearing predominately blue and red when home and predominately red and blue when clashing likely.

a blue hat and a red hat can make that much difference on the TV screen.

That will put the wind up them.

Stick it to the man!

Mess with dlanders and risk wardrobe war.

I have spent years emailing the club in this issue and countless hours emailing them my designs, like the one I put up earlier. Cam Schwabb took one of the jumpers I designed ando posted here and made it a reality but didn't add the right width of blue outline around the red V. I really dunno why they don't get people to submit designs, make a shortlist and then vote. I have suggested this too.

You mean getting people to submit designs and vote like the Dorks did:

Ironically if you change the colours to red and blue, and obviously make it the MFC letters, the runner up would be something I would really like for Melbourne.

And at the very least with a fan designed, and voted guernsey at least your giving your supporters a chance to make a choice for something they like.

I would say take note MFC, but how the club can miss something this obvious staggers me.

The Dorks have colours of wees and poos! No wonder they want to add "white"!

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
