How is this for a conspiracy theory, the club purposely made the jumper look like a pile of puss in order to get the fans to revolt, that way they have clear evidence of the fans hatred of the AFL policy with which to approach the AFL and tell them to change it. We all know how much Dill hates annoying fans and making decisions through fan polls, there are stupider ways of making him see sense.

I think a picket line is called for out the front of AAMI.

Let's dress up an effigy in a white guernsey and set it alight then we can all urinate on it to put it out (not advised for the ladies).

Bit of media exposure right there...

Spot on DC. Now nothing is impossible!

The "clash" jumper is a substitute for being the Away team at a ground.

There are few sides who have a true Home ground advantage.

The more shoddy and tacky they are The AFL approve.

Sorry but in the Era of HD TV's on a well kept grass surface The notion that i cannot pick out my team against an opposition is just complete Bullsh!t and makes a mockery of the long time supporter and Member

this is so true.

watching on tv is so much easier (in terms of identifying players and teams) than if you were at the ground

this argument is pure bulltish. it might have had some validity a loooong time ago

Thinking gets you to be US President? The evidence is against  it, DC ...

Yeah, like back when everyone watched B&W TV

Back then we were smart enough to tell teams apart by the colour of their shorts.

Edit:- Black or white shorts, too easy.

Well, the view results or show results button is effectively an abstain.

Currently 7 people (5%) have abstained,  11 (8%) love it ,  17 (13%) don't care,  and 98 (74%) hate it.  133 total.

This is the problem.  We have over 20k members at the moment, and only 98 people hate it.  The reality is, of all the members, the main ones that would give a toss about our away jumper would be posters on here.

I'd imagine this is why the MFC couldn't give a rats what emails they get, as they know it'd be from the very small minority of people/members that are totally upset with it.

As I said on the first page, I do think this design is yuck, but generally I have zero interest in what our away jumpers look like.  I have no interest in buying an away jumper anyway.

You are a clever one, DC ? I still hate the inclusion of the white and the increasingly bizarre justification of why white is needed.

how do you know this, billy

the 98 is only a sample, but it still represents 78% of the total

and you just dismiss it out of hand with no other evidence to back up your fantasy claims

but, carry on

Point is, the ones that truly care about it are the ones contacting the club.  Until this one, I have never cared about our away strip, and as much as I dislike this one, there is not one part of me that is interested in emailing the club about it.  I would bet that of the 20k+ members, those that dislike the jumper will be like be, and not bother contacting the club.  Is it going to make me cancel my membership?  No.  Am I still going to go to games?  Yes.  Is it going to make me buy/not want to buy the away strip?  No.  Is the jumper temporary, and they will try a different design next time around?  Yes.

Hopefully you can see where I'm going with this.  The club will take our thoughts on board, be polite and respond, then press "delete" quicker than they pressed "send".

If you don't agree, start a petition and let's see how many signatures you get.

no one is saying it's a life or death issue, nor a really big issue

you are apathetic and you claim most others are too, that's fine it's just your opinion

no reason he can't walk and chew gum at the same time, gv

obviously, it's not one of the big issues but that shouldn't be a reason to do nothing. the afl is not going to come down on him like a ton of bricks if he brings it up as an issue

You're right, Daisy, it is my opinion.  But your line above in bold probably supports my opinion.  Maybe the club just don't think it is an issue at all, regardless of how a small minority of supporters email them telling them that it's crap.

I actually don't know what we're disagreeing about - sorry!

well the fact that many people don't engage directly in social exchanges with the club  on any or every issue they are not happy with doesn't mean they are content or approving. same with, say, demonstrations . people are just different in how they wish to engage, but because some don't email doesn't necessarily equate to tacit agreement of status quo.

we probably agree on that too

Well, should we just accept the MFC and the AFL having our team play in a jumper that looks like "a pile of puss"?

Do we revolt or just play possum?

Surely one of the key criteria from the clubs perspective would be Demon shop sales.

I think revenue's gonna be down this year.

$40 clash jumpers for sale in the Dee shop in Oct/Nov 17 I expect.

ITS JUST A MARKETING PLOY.

Now than can sell off this years jumpers instead of burning them and then put more bucks in the bank by selling the new one for xmas presents.

they will certainly be cheaper than the home strip.

If Essendon can wear all red, I see no reason why we should be able to as well, as in the middle example below (I know it's been posted multiple times).

I really really like the middle one as a clash guernsey.

These are very VERY good. They look like footy jumpers, not a tourist singlet !!

I much prefer the Red to the White. Red emanates much more power as a look.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
