They got a big fat zero for Friday night games.

I'm ecstatic about it.

Was just having a look thanks.

A big sucked in to anyone associated with the Richmond football club in any capacity. They've been on the end of favourable draws for years.

MUCH better draw than LY, both on the field and financially off it.

Carlton home game tick

No Geelong in Geelong tick

No Etihad home games tick

North and St Kilda at the G tick

A bye after one of our NT game tick

Really happy. If we are serious about finals, we should get to 12 wins.

So excited for next year

Go Dees!!!

I am predicting we have the following:

Definite wins: 12

Definite losses: 6

50/50: 4

Outcome: 13-14 wins and our first finals series since 06.

Out of interest what are your losses and 50/50,s ?

cheers

I don't think there are any 'definite losses' for us next season.

If Melbourne and Collingwood are both in contention (or by that stage confirmed) finalists, the Round 23 clash could be a corker.

too bad they wont be ;)

Agreed, a good draw.  I don't like attending night games but if we are thinking finals, I am concerned about our lack of night games.

Losses:

Round 1 v Saints

Round 3 v Geelong,

Round 8 v Adelaide,

Round 13 v Bulldogs,

Round 14 v West Coast,

Round 20 v GWS

50/50:

Round 6 v Essendon

Round 15 v Sydney

Round 17 v Adelaide

Round 23 v Collingwood

While I'm sure we will win probably one or two of the losses I find it works well when you assume you will lose certain games and win others as it generally evens out. Also, I'd be bitterly disappointed if we lose to Essendon & Collingwood but I just feel they are 50/50 games at the moment.

It looks a good football fixture overall - the tough part is 3 x 6-day breaks in a row after QBW:

  • R13 v Dogs (off 9 days) at Etihad
  • R14 v WCE (off 8 days) at Domain
  • R15 v Sydney (off 7 days) our Friday night at the MCG

That's a very tough run, especially with the trip to Perth in the middle and our marquee Friday night exposure at the end which is a pity - we'll need to manage our rotations through that period and play a squad.

Appreciated, always interesting to get another persons thoughts.

I think we're better than what we showed rd 23 against the cats. For some reason I just can't bring myself to rate them.

Deserved, they entertain.

How did Richmond fare?

I agree they entertained and deserve the lion's share. But other than Adelaide's 5 Friday nights, these two are a looooong way ahead of everybody else.

As long as this trend continues, that's the main thing.

Was worried about our short break from Round 5 to Round 6, then realised that Essendon have a 115hr break themselves. Might need some state-of-the-art recovery juice?

Highlights:

- Play the annual Queen’s Birthday home match against Collingwood
- Play an ANZAC Day Eve match at the MCG for the third consecutive season (note: it will be Richmond’s turn to host next year’s game)
- Play a home Friday night match against the Sydney Swans in round 15
- Play a home game against a big Victorian club (Carlton) early in the season in round two
- Play new opponents in the Northern Territory (Gold Coast Suns at TIO Traeger Park, Alice Springs and the Adelaide Crows at TIO Stadium, Darwin)
- Play no home matches at Etihad Stadium

I think the most important thing is that I'll be able to attend my wedding as our fixture doesn't clash with it. ;)

I agree. I just use that as an exercise to try and predict how many games we win & lose and it usually ends up pretty accurate.

I thought all guys knew that weddings should only take place in February.  Pretty much the only month that doesn't have a major sporting event or have a long weekend in it, and the weather is generally pretty reliable.

Bold AF, you organised a wedding before seeing the fixture. Not me.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
