Impossible to know but I wonder how many extra members will be down to the inclusion of women's league? The Dees are probably the best team to watch, certainly of the Melbourne based sides, and have the most recognisable player. Seeing the number of number 6's on the backs of kids jumpers I'm guessing isn't down to Jordan Lewis. Getting a rock solid foothold in this market before the inclusion of sides from Richmond/Hawthorn/Geelong get started could help secure a financial bonus for years to come.

100% agree. I enjoy watching our womens team play because they are our team. Im sure it win us some new fans - some who are daughters and sons of dees fans who hadnt really commited, some women who are partners to dees fans and some who come to the mens team via the womens team (the converse of my experience).

The dees should rebuild the melbourne vixens connection (a very short lived dalliance). Demons can be vixens and vice versa

I fully agree with this! Not only Richmond/Hawthorn/Geelong but also Bombers/Kangas/Saints! We have to move swiftly to dominate this League before the other six Victorian teams come snapping at our heels! (BTW> 33,520 members and climbing!)

p.s. I also agree with Binman regarding the advantages of an alliance with the Melbourne Vixens!

I always sign up, and even if we lose 1st up I will still buy a membership (probably after a win) but want to make a point about winning over the Saints. Preseason hype aside, and I loved the Carlton game, I want the club and players to see a bump in numbers after we win during the season.

I am also probably the only bloke going around who buys a membership for his ex and his new missus at the same time. Also one of the few upsides to having four kids is the membership bump, don't bother with signing the dog up.

I'd assume the Norf figure includes 3 game memberships for Blundstone Arena. The Hawks have somewhere around 10k Tassie members, Norf possibly half that.

Also, if you subscribe to the Geelong Advertiser they'll throw in a 16-game Cats' membership. In essence you're getting a free membership.

It annoys the hell out of me that my 16 game Dees membership won't get me into K Park. Little wonder they make half a $mil each home game.

33795 at the end of the first week in March. This is well up on last year. 7,750 up on the same week, five years ago!

A win tonight and this may just keep going.  Fingers crossed and............ yes, no injuries.

We lost (but the girls had a gutsy victory) so we are now 34,310 at the end of week two March. Still tracking well!

Down on last year for the first time. Early wins will be crucial.

Hawks today advertising that if you purchased a 3-game membership you got a full all-home game membership. Little wonder they have 70k plus members.

With the cap on spending in footy areas, once clubs get over a certain revenue figure they may as well give it away to build membership, gain prime TV slots and suck up to their masters in AFL House...

They have 4 Tassie games so interesting to see if they get those replacement games. Otherwise it would be an upgrade from 3 games to 7, rather than 3 to 11.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the scorching morning heat to bring you the following observations of Wednesday's preseason training session from Gosch's Paddock. HARVEY WALLBANGER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Absent: Salem, Windsor (word is a foot rash going around), Viney, Bowey and Kentfield Train ons: Roy George, no Culley today. MATCH SIM: Friday 7th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Rehab: Jake Lever and Charlie Spargo running laps.  Lever was running short distances at a fast click as well as having kick to kick with a trainer. He seems unimpeded. Tommy Sparrow was here last week in civvies and wearing sunnies. He didn’t train. Today he’s training but he’s wearing goggles so he’s likely got an eye injury. THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
