Sorry, I'm not sure how Lobby staying with GWS can be regarded as a good thing, or am I missing something?

Thanks for signing on Jesse.  Thanks for doing it quick and not stressing me out over the offseason.  Thanks for not being a Tom Scully.  Thanks for your 80 odd goals in two years.  Thanks for your excellent work up the ground.  Thanks for being a beast.  Thanks again for sticking with us.  Thanks for having the good sense to choose to run out at the 'G' as your home ground.  Light up the G Jesse.   Thanks for being a great player.  Your critics are [censored] heads.  Your footballing instinct is right up there.  Thanks for marking all those forward fifty entries that Jack Watts laid onto you and allowing him to be the super talented player he is.  Thank you for seemingly ignoring all the unsupportive and unnecessary negativity from one of our favourite sons in Schwartz.  Thanks for making my $#cking day!

2 extra years is good for the club. It will then know just how good he is, rather than be paying long, big contract, largely on promise.

They know now mate.  Let me walk you thru this.

He has kicked 80 something goals in his first two years of AFL footy .  Whilst he was the ages 19, 20 and 21.  He did all this after pretty much having a broken back and not playing the game for twelve months.  The year before this he lead Casey in goal scoring and I reckon he may have won their B and F.  As a 17 year old.  In a man's competition.  He is a beast.  Bottom line.   None of this is 'promise'.  It's the reality.

Great to watch

It was interesting that the first few games he just ran in without the stttuuuttter - developed mid season   I wonder why?   Hopefully it can be corrected

It's funny how he was 50/50 about staying when he was playing well, yet despite his form dropping off later in the season, he decided to stay.

It seems that his relationship with Goodwin was a big factor in his decision.

If it was a choice between two coaches, it was surely a no contest.

Only Mrs Lyon could choose the man from Freo.

Asterix would be sensational as a crumbing forward or running off half back

"Goes hard all day"

He could certainly crash packs & clear a path. Thinks clearly in a crisis too.

Would have to get the "magic potion" checked with ASADA though.

I am so glad he signed on, and more so about what he said about signing on. Couldn't have ended up better.

Finally players want to play for the red and blue, and see a super bright future for the group. Hogan has made the Dees a "destination club" imo as he signed on for more.

Who was the [censored] from WC saying they had constant dialogue with Jessie?

Well done to the club on how this was managed & not jumping @ shadows & reacting to the noise!

A far cry from how this would have been handled by the previous mob in charge!

I think you are overstating things. WCE and Freo would have constantly asked Hogan's management about his long term intentions. They'd be derelict not to, and I'd hope we are doing the same thing with young stars at interstate clubs.

By his own admission, Hogan was 50/50. I think we should be thankful to our new coach Goodwin.

Agree lol.....  In terms of him being 50/50...what more can the club do? Its in the best shape its been in terms of its list, stability etc At same stage players need to take a leap of faith & believe in the club . If our players are not motivated by what the doggies achieved, I don know what will & I question that the club has to have all the boxes ticked for them to stay....Remember its a 2 way street!

Wow he knew what he was doing. Everyone else just jumped to conclusions and people on here went nuts which turned other people into believing he was going.

But he made his choice and a good one at that. It's nice to see him stay with us unlike past players. Thank god we can go into 2017 with him locked away. No talk or speculation.

When I heard the news on SEN this morning it gave me an extra spring in my step.

It's amazing that despite 539 attempts they've not been able to snag any of the players they've targeted yet.

Hilarious that Lobb re-signed today as well!

Good point.

Also gives us 2 extra years to plan for what will inevitably be a mountainous offer from other clubs when he becomes RFA

Ball is back in our court. Kudos again to  the MFC for the way we played this.

Hey @TGR, what do you think of this?

It is always good for the club, when someone who lives interstate, and is in demand, elects to stay at the club.  Always good.  I have never salivated over Hogan, and in many ways I hope he proves me wrong.

The Tom Boyd argument only arose here because of a simpleton questioning why I would reference Boyd's ruck-skills 3 weeks or so ago.  This was never Hogan v. Boyd as like-for-like players.  This was TGR again highlighting the value of a MDMT and mainly questioning why the average Melbourne supporter was under-rating Boyd and the Bulldogs in general, if you look at my posts about them (Bulldogs) over the past 18 months.  Many supporters here were perplexed as to why they beat us; I never thought we were in their league.

I rarely think a premiership coach is the best coach in the league.  Simpletons do that.  For once, I will gladly join them.  The first inkling was when he didn't pick a ruckman to face Sandilands in 2015.  Left the recent AA ruckman in the VFL.  He has brains as well as balls.  Rare combo.

I have a suspicion, with the rumours of a 4 year deal, ( 3 year extension ), to be announced this week and then the revelation from the club, that it was a 2 year extension and only signed last night, that there may have been a change of mind, to only extend for 2 years on his Manager's advice, so as to tie in with any FA rule change to 6 years.

Anyway, great that he has signed and continuing the buy in of all our younger players.

    TRAINING: Monday 20th January 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator attended training out at Casey Fields to bring you the following observations from Preseason Training. GATOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS There were 5 in the main rehab group, namely Gawn, Petracca, Fullarton, Woewodin and Lever.  Laurie was running laps by himself, as was Jefferson.  Chandler, as has been reported, had his arm in a sling.  Lindsay did a bit of lap running later on. Some of the ''rehab 5'' participated in non contact drills and b

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session.
