He may have been at " The Inner Earth" bookshop.

Or at his solicitor, or looking for a new one.

Pretty forthright words from PJ reported in the age this morning

Can't see H back at the club based on these timeframes quoted for resolving the impasse. I had a sneaking suspicion that the club didn't want H at training as his mindset/attitude might distract the others, but I don't get that feeling reading this.

Hopefully it does get resolved before year end.

Posted around six weeks ago on this thread that it was apparent (or at least likely) that H had played his last game.

At that time my thoughts were pay him out but make sure it is done in a time frame that does not stuff up our draft choices.

It is now apparent that he will go (when is the question) and that we will upgrade a rookie.

My question to those who follow the draft closely is assuming H had gone pre draft would we have chosen a player in the draft that we did not rookie anyway.

Secondly assuming we promote a rookie pre-season are we allowed to replace that rookie with another.

Many thanks

We can add a category B or C Rookie.

if he is not turning up to training can we sack him for breach of contract.  he is obviously not doing as  directed by the club, and surely there is a clause in the players contracts to end them if the player is not playing ball.

I would say he is doing what he has been told.

He has obviously had enough, as have we and Goody probably didn't want others being distracted with an unhappy, non committed, half hearted training sham of an effort.

Keep in mind that he could have a training accident (like the last unseen incident) and another concussion, we don't want that.

There must be something more to this. All through the his pre-season and at the start of 2016 we were getting reports of how great Harry was for our kids - helping them train and learn etc.

To come to this, a situation where the club may (I stress may) have said 'please don't show up', just reeks of a missing puzzle piece.

I will be happy to just not have this spud on our list. Mentally not up to AFL level footy IMO. Never rated him as a player either.

An All Australian Premiership player of 223 games, jeez what would he have been like if he was up to it

Just unfortunate that his time, like Dawes, has not turned out the way he or the club would have wanted it to.

I just want the club to sort it out so that it doesn't come back to haunt us in the future, do the best for both the club and H

So we cannot select a category A rookie which as I understand it are those who have played in an AFL comp at any time in the last three years.

Perhaps not really a great outcome then

The Rookie draft has come and gone. Category B and C Rookies are still available. I think we could take Allsop if we wanted to. Maybe they have their eyes on someone else or are happy to go in one rookie short.

I don't think we do and nothing I've read from Jackson leads me to alter that view.

Dawes never stopped trying. Big difference.

Interestingly written. Does not discuss any payout. The club reinforces its stance we have done everything we could and he leaves in a healthy condition of his own volition.

If he has medical advice that says he can't play then he'd be entitled to some form of payout anyway.

Speculating on the details probably won't help.

Regardless of whether he couldn't or wouldn't play we certainly didn't have any desire to keep him around so he's gone now.

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,
