Frost, brown and Marsh all traded out.

I guess the ever durable Ben Reid is going to play all key positions at the back then?

The pies are rooted and it is all their own doing.   whwhahahaha!

BREAKING NEWS:

1/ Buckley to make surprise comeback as playing coach as he realises that nobody is as good as he

2/ Eddie to be drafted as first ruck

As it stands, Lewis and Hibberd are the only two players we are talking to.

We never spoke to Rockliff and Gawn isn't going anywhere.

Dodoro and Lewis are the only things holding up the Hibberd deal.

I have heard the Lewis deal will likely be finalised before the Hibberd deal.

Authoritative or your speculation, dr.dee?

as exciting as the past few days have been, i'm pretty relieved that it no longer looks as though we're into rockliff (if we ever were).. i'd be stoked with hibberd, lewis and our current second rounder (pick 29).

Surprisingly a quiet day in terms of trades for all parties involved. I was hoping that the Lewis trade would go through today. But at least he has officially nominated us as his club of choice. Can't imagine it's too far away from being sorted.

Still plenty of deals to be finalised as well before the Thursday deadline. Gibbs, O'Meara, Tuohy, Hibberd, Vardy, Marchbank and Hanley are all still yet to be traded. Should make for an interesting final few days.

Xavier Richards has just requested a trade but hasn't said where to, yet!!  @ 195cm could he be our forward ruck backup?

Could this be the reason the Hibberd deal is being held up and why we want to keep pick 29?

No idea, just hypothesising and to give us someone other than Lewis and Rockcliff to talk about.

Pretty sure I heard that Deledio is a good chance to stay at Tigerland. Forgot about Prestia. Not sure where the Tiges are at with that one.

I suggested that if we were unsuccessful in finding a ruck/fwd, Hulett with his build would be a good candidate and got howled down, assume the same applies to Richards as they are now same height

Pick 29 to the draft

Hibberd for next years second round pick.

Lewis for this year, pick 44

Unconfirmed of course.

This would be a good outcome. Keep our 2nd rounder in a deep draft, and use the others for rookie upgrades

After another fascinating but uneventful day, NAB Trade Readio is reporting:-

• Hawthorn midfielder Jordan Lewis is a step closer to being a Demons player after today requesting a trade to the club. The Hawks and Demons must now agree on a deal.

• Collingwood has lost another defender with Nathan Brown moving to St Kilda as a restricted free agent. Collingwood didn't match their offer and they receive no compensation for losing him.

• Sydney forward Xavier Richards looks like having a new home next season after requesting a trade away from the club. It's expected Richards will look for a new home with a Victorian club.

• North Melbourne has secured GWS youngster Paul Ahern, with a trade today seeing pick 69 head to GWS from the Roos.

• The future of Jimmy Bartel is no clearer, with his teammate Tom Hawkins today telling NAB AFL Trade Radio he hadn't heard whether his teammate wanted to play on in 2017.

DONE DEALS SO FAR:

•    Tyrone Vickery moves from Richmond to Hawthorn as a restricted free agent
•    Daniel Wells moves from North Melbourne to Collingwood as an unrestricted free agent
•    Cam McCarthy, pick 7, 34 and 72 move from GWS to Fremantle in exchange for pick 3.
•    Chris Mayne moves from Fremantle to Collingwood as an unrestricted free agent
•    Brad Hill traded from Hawthorn to Fremantle in exchange for pick 23
•    Pick 3 and 16 traded from GWS to Brisbane in exchange for picks 2, 31, 51 and 60.
•    Jack Steele moves from GWS to St Kilda in exchange for their 2017 future round two pick
•    Sam Mitchell, pick 54 and 72 traded from Hawthorn to West Coast in exchange for pick 52, 70 and 88.
•    Tom Mitchell and pick 57 traded from Sydney to Hawthorn in exchange for pick 14 and 52
•    Pick 10 and 68 traded from St Kilda to Hawthorn in exchange for Hawthorn's 2017 future first pick, and this year's picks 23 and 36
•    Paul Ahern traded from GWS to North Melbourne for pick 69
•    Nathan Brown moves from Collingwood to St Kilda as a restricted free agent

Something is still holding the Hibberd deal up IMO, otherwise it would have been done last week. I'm expecting something left field here

Height isn't the only thing: Richards is 23 yo and ready to go, Hulett isn't.

According to this "commentator", it will most likely be 66 or 84 that gets Lewis across the line.

It will get done at the last minute. Essendon are waiting to find out what we have to trade when all the other deals are done, they will push for our second round pick, if we still have it, or accept next year's second round pick.

But he hasn't played in the ruck, so he would be coming from the same starting point from a rucking point of view as Hulett, didn't think much of him when he played for Sydney, but if FD are interested who knows? Like to know why he has actually requested a trade, has a club tapped his manager on the shoulder?

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,
