Well one of Hawks, Cats or Eagles definitely wont make the top 4

Unfortunately two definitely will.   I wish all three could miss out.

Probably prefer the Cats miss the top 4, so sick of their charity and it will mean we beat them next week.  If Eagles sneak into 4th spot they will get flogged in the first week anyway , and will likely be without Nic Nat meaning they are just making up numbers.

Hawks will [censored] Collingwood next week.

Well that would be funny. At the hawks game i was pretty vocal through the game and partic near the end when i confess i yelled Percentage! A hawks fan in front of me did a lot head shaking and when leaving  patted me on the shoulder and said (in a very condescending tone) -  might see you in the finals next year champ.

Which was funny because even though he meant it as a sledge i had just been thinking exactly the same thing.

It would be even funnier if we met them in the final this year. Perhaps knocking them out in the second week after elimnating the cats in the first week. In that dream scenrio he is sitting right in front of me again!

I am serious, he is without doubt a good coach but the old adage is Good Players make Good Coaches, take a look at Mathews record, he won one flag with Collingwood and was eventually sacked.  He also won 3 with Brisbane when they had one of the best teams ever assembled, but what happened to him and them once they lost some of their top players. Their and his record after 2004 was terrible.

Clarkson is a very god coach and has been revolutionary, but it is a lot easier if you have the players that can carry out your plans.  Next year he will have an ageing list and the players that have carried the team for the last 10 years or thereabouts will be on the verge of, or retired. Their top three possession winners last night, Hodge, Burgoyne and Lewis are getting on, Mitchell is mid 30's Roughy may not play again, Gibson is getting on.  Who do they have to replace them and if they can't then do you think they will still be finals contenders or will they go in to rebuilding phase.

As I said the next three years will see just how good Clarkson is, he won't have a team of champions anymore so it may be a bit more difficult to conjure up a flag with an ordinary side.

Not sure why you got so uppity about it, it was just an observation.

Norm smith had a great record because he was a revolutionary coach and had the fittest side in the competition, he also had a great group of players that were able to carry out his instructions at a time when most players only played football as a means of supplementing their income. But even the great Norm Smith had a vey poor record after 1964.

It would be great if Sydney could do us a favour and bridge our remaining percentage gap in the one game today. That way we just need to focus on getting over the line and not the pressure of belting Carlton.

The best thing is that Adelaide, Geelong and Sydney will all want to smash their poor opposition this weekend with top spot up for grabs. Great inventive for them to destroy Norf.

Hope the Tigers beat the Saints.

Saints can mathematically still make the finals, even though its not being taken seriously.  All they need is to win the next two by big margins (vs Tigers, Lions), and North to lose both by big margins (vs Sydney, GWS) and for us to lose one of the next two.

If they [censored] the Tigers today by a huge margin they will be up and about ...shudder.
