If O'Meara passed a medical and nominated us, I would explode the front of my pants right out.

He's a very, very good footballer

He would be a top 5 player in the comp already if not for those knees.  Its a shame as he is a joy to watch.

Yep, the kid is cooked. Absolutely no hope of recovery whatsover. Really feel for him, and wish him the best in his next career.

(P.S.D pick 8 - Melbourne:  Ah we will take, hmmmm, not sure. Jaeger O'Meara thanks.)

I haven't read or heard it from any other source. You'd think Barrett would have broken it as an exclusive by now if true (or someone more reliable than Nixon had tweeted it).

Barrett only posts rumours he makes up himself he doesn't do it with rumours made up by others.

Failed medical? Oh dear.

Imagine if it scares off every other club and he has already burnt the bridge back to GCS?
This would be an epic stuff up comparable to the Dusty Martin one of a few years ago.

I still reckon Essendon would grab him in the PSD and back themselves to get him right but god it's turned south on him if he's failed a medical

Jaeger could have his leg amputated, and I would still be mightily [censored] if he ended up at essedon.

Absolutely mate, but they hold the #1 PSD pick and that's a huge card in this situation, the suns have plenty of picks and i suspect they'll be asking for established players

Wonder what Gil will be thinking if this eventuates. He basically gave them the no. 1 pick as a priority pick. They are obviously a mid table team not bottom of ladder. They are only there because of the tanking and Gil has let them get the benefit of picking up pick 1. If they then use it to shaft the AFL's investment in Gold Coast  you'd have to wonder what they will do. They have right royally stuffed this one up, yet again. Another Essendon special care of Gil.

Gil is just digging himself holes all over the place mate, the fact Essendon have the number 1 draft pick is a joke, Brisbane Lions lose access to an absolute jet of a player because Essendon cheated.

The PSD is useless these days. In fact complete irrelevant. Essendon are trying to be high and mighty about it.

Whatever club he picks will get done via trade.

I agree, it will be very interesting to see where he ends up, i am guessing with no degree of confidence that it'll probably be the Saints

scratch that: Stevo reckons it's down to 2, Essendon or Hawthorn.

I'm warming the car up, and saying goodbye to the missus now.

They tell me carbon monoxide is a fast way to go. Hope that's true.

Depends how old the car is your using. Almost impossible to die from it with a new car

I'll track down my old Datsun 260C. Should do the trick nicely if I can stop it from stalling. Fully sick stereo too bro, so the fade out should be entertaining.

Apparently Roos, Saints and Blues have changed their mind on Jaeger.

Obviously he is not looking good from a medical viewpoint.

As Stevo said it now appears to be a race in two, Hawks and Bombers.

With Hawks looking likely on Mitchell and Vickery, surely Jaeger will be too much and that puts the Bombers in the front seat.

With the PSD as bluffing power, they could get him very cheaply.

That would be extremely disappointing, especially for the Suns.

Whoever gets O'Meara will need to understand that he will be hard work to keep on the park for a long time. In fact if he has failed medicals at various clubs whoever is left should be already thinking about how best to manage his pre-season.

GC have had some pretty rotten luck with some out and out gun young players, and now it looks like they will be leaving the club. Will make me sick if Essendon get him in the PSD.

Good luck to the bombers whichever way they pick him up. He still has to get on the park to play.

God, not Essendon, anyone but Essendon. I would almost give away the game. Drug cheating their way to picking up O'Meara for free.

While I'd never wish for a player to be cruelled by injury... I'd happily see Essendon sign such a player up on a long expensive contract, only for him to never get on the park.

Trouble is the Hibberd deal will probably be done in the opening minutes of trade week, while the O'Meara haggling will go on for some time.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
