It's going to be a tough call this week, glad that we aren't picking the team but badly need extra height and some bigger bodies if we are to have any hope against the Hawks, also need run and endeavour. We will miss JV but it was a bit of a futile act, better to get the ball show a clean pair of heels than just trying to punch your opponent out!!! Go Dee's

I hope the selectors start this week with a clean sheet of paper and look long and hard at the players to ensure we are picking a team we think will win rather than picking a team we hope might win.

I would drop 7 on their play and form today and Viney might get a week on top of that for, being stupid.

OMac and Garland out of the backs with Wagner in line fora drop as well. Replace them with Dunn, Frost and Grimes. They coUtd not be any worse.

Oliver, Vdb and Trengove to come into the midfield in place of Kennedy, Bugg and ANB.

get Dawes or Pedersen in in place of Kent.

I posted this on Saturday after the game and, after watching the replay, have no changed my mind.

Out: Viney, Garland, OMac, Kennedy, Kent and 2 out of Bugg, ANB, Wagner and Newton.

In: Pedersen, Dawes or Weed (Dawes More Likely), Dunn, Frost Oliver, Trengove and either White or Terlich.

My team for the Hawks:

Backs: Jetta, Dunn, Frost

Half Backs: Vince, TMac, White/Terlich

Center: Hunt, Jones, Stretch

Half Forward: Watts, Dawes, Harmes

Forward: Garlett, Hogan, Petracca

Fol: Gawn, Oliver, Tyson

Interchange: Pedersen, Trengove, Terlich, ANB

I don't know why everybody wants Frost in in place of OMac. I have been to quite a few Casey games and I can tell you that OMac is a much better defensive option than Frost any day.

bj was talking of soylent green last week and i've just read an interesting article about how soylent green is actually being manufactured in china as we speak. seems china's one child policy has been the catalyst providing a high abortion rate, and well, you can work the rest out for yourself bearing in mind china's penchant for strange medicinal concoctions. true, no $bs

Tastes like chicken.

Smother it in chilli and garlic and it could be anything. Or anyone.

We do a bit of it here after a decent loss.

I watch lots of games of football and I had Sam for a while in my Dream team a rookie option while he was still at GWS.  I watch my Dream team players closely and while no star and limited with his skills he's a far better option than young Oscar, who is presently borderline VFL development league quality.

    CROSSROADS by The Oracle

Melbourne stands at the crossroads.  Sunday’s game against the West Coast Eagles who have not met the Demons at the MCG in more than ten years, is a make or break for the club’s finals aspirations.  That proposition is self-evident since every other team the club will be opposed to over the next eight weeks of footy is a prospective 2024 finalist. To add to this perspective is the fact that while the Demons are now in twelfth position on the AFL table, they are only a game and a half b

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi
