Garbage, we were lazy one way footballers.  It reminds me of the Dean Bailey era again, when it goes our way we look unbeatable as soon as it gets hard we dont work.  The bulldogs would have had 6 to 8 goals kick inside the goal square getting us out the back.  That is lazy running we didnt run to defend.

Tom McDonald needs to have a good hard look at himself, he was woeful he is number 1 on the lazy list or we need to accept he isnt a smart footballer and needs a job rather than zone.

Luke Beveridge is a great coach and top top bloke!! Give me a break! You are on thin ground here son with these comments. I know Bevo and he is entitled to his opinion and I'll tell you what he can coach ( as proven today) and as I have said he is a sensational person!

Hogan runs a big arc whenever kicking from 40+. Clearly struggles with the distance.

Last year he had it under control, but this year his set shots are all over the place in general.

Haha wtf? As I said, he is clearly a good coach and they obviously love playing for him. BUT, those comments re Essendon were massively concerning coming from a head coach of an AFL club.

Was that what it was for? I looked at the replay at the ground and I thought it was Bugg that was no where near within 10 metres and I thought Garland was on the mark but had not moved. Totally baffling decision along with another dozen or so rubbish calls and total inability of umpires to see throws executed straight in front of them. I reckon there were at least 6 throws to advantage, the umps finally picked out one in the last quarter.

Exactly, my opinion. I am entitled to not like the bloke, like lots of footy fans don't like like certain footy personalities. Completely harmless, and I'm sure he isn't going to lose any sleep over some peanut on a fan forum not liking him, like you seem to be.

I really don't want to get into an Essendon thing here, but those comments rubbed a lot of people the wrong way, and showed a lack of understanding of the drug code. And from a head coach, I, like others, find that a little bit unnerving.

Having been at the game today and watching the dogs live. Wow. they are quick, they manage to find space easily and free players and rarely miss there targets. They have 2 good forwards up there in Redpath and Stringer. 

They did there homework on Gawn. Completely shut him down. We missed easy shots at goal and turned the ball over a number of times. 

Im not angry but geez I expect us to bounce back against the lions next week.

Today was a lot like the Essendon game. They pressured us in close, refused to give us clean use of the ball, forced us to play dirty scrappy footy, which we don't like and aren't too flash at.

The difference was we tried all the way through in this one.

Just like Essendon, they moved it too easily when they had it.

The zone defence does not work. Either it's the wrong strategy or we don't have the right players to perform it. Time and again the dogs won it at half back, you look down the ground, 2 and 3 dog forwards on their own. Imagine being a forward who doesn't have to win the ball. And they took advantage. Take away the 6-odd goals we handed to them on a platter and it's a close game!

We worked so hard for our goals. Then they would whisk it down the other end, boom. Walk in goal. Easily snuffed out our embryonic attempts at a comeback.

We had a day of dropped marks. Dunno if it was the dogs pressure or just an off day. Probably both. Scoreboard pressure will do that to you.

But overall, we were outplayed by a good side. The dogs played in front. Some of our players seem to prefer playing from behind. To those players, please do that at Casey. Not on the G.

The dogs are well coached. They are slick and work well together. They are clearly coached to play for the frees. And I don't mean moaning and appealing to the umps. I mean by dropping the knees or keeping their heads low to the ground like they're sniffing out truffles. The umps resisted for a lot of the game (I expect the umps department got their ears bashed early in the week) but eventually caved in and started giving them. They throw the ball a lot too. I expect they train for that.

We were never going to win coming from behind. Our leaky defence is not tight enough. We needed to get a break on them, put on scoreboard pressure, and outscore them in a shootout from there. We were never going to win relying on holding them to a minimal score.

It was an entertaining game in spite of the loss. All I want is to go to a game, knowing we have a reasonable chance to win, then see us give it our best shot. Finding out what happens is the excitement. Although outplayed, we were still a faint chance 10 mins into the last.

It beats the hell out of wondering if we will lose by 10 goals or 20, and hoping for the 10 goal loss. We don't do that any more. We are a real footy club again.

There was one decision where the Ump said " you're lying on his back!"( when the Scray guy was holding the ball).

That would happen 50 times a match without being paid " in the back".

Not really, the decision was right, the rule is just [censored]. A free goal for a player who did nothing is just stupid. I was more concerned that we were playing Canterbury Bulldogs, some of their rugby passes were first class.

Umpiring complaints aside 4-5 goal loss and plenty of effort is about where we should be against the dogs. Disappointing we couldn't get the scalp but really just was what I expected, looking forward to next week!.

I'm not a fan of him at all. Becoming alot like those two whinging sisters Brad and Chris Scott. His treatment of Michael Talia last year was pathetic.

The mighty no 2 wasn't that bad. He was in the thick of the action all day without having any glamourous moments to excite the crowd. Like all our mids, was forced to scrap and fight in the trenches the whole day. He, Viney, Tyson did well in that they didn't take a backward step and made the dogs earn it. Without those players we would have gone down by 10+ goals.

At one point today a Doggies player, double handed, threw the ball out of bounds and neither the throw or the deliberate OOB were paid against him, of course they are slick and quick with the ball, any team would be if they were allowed to throw like it was rugby.

We were hesitant today, we fumbled the ball too much, we dropped marks and the players lost faith in their team mates to win the contest, there were so many occasions when a player would leave his man to help out and when the ball came out it was to an unattended opposition player.

Wagner played his worst game today and will probably be sent to Casey next week, the mistakes he made were glaring and really obvious.  Hunt was ordinary and will probably have a rest next week.  Garland was terrible and Dunn would have been better today. Viney has to stop trying to win the game on his own, there were many times today when we got in each others way and they came out with the ball.

We are a side trying to get in the Eight, they are a side looking to consolidate a top Four position and it showed today.

Chunk got sucked in to the head toss party.....coupla shocking tackles on his behalf, at crucial times...cost goals.

Not all that worried about today (weird dropped marks, fumbles etc.) & confident we'll sort out the defence issue. 

Dogs had rub of green and some absolutely mystifying umpiring help. Impressive depth I'll give them that.
