What a find !! 23 Quality Possesions 4 kicks and astounding 19 handballs all to players in dangerous positions to launch attacks, 15 pressure acts 6 Bone jarring tackles!

What a player, as I have mentioned previously he reminds me so much of Greg Williams whose handball was deadly, real carve teams upo stuff and young Clayton is goinf very much the same way. I cannot think of another Melbourne player at all in the past 25 years who was as succesful a player with quick and telling hands. Probably te closest was Andrew Obst!

His peripheral vision is atounding, just watch him in traffic, he buys time asseses quickly and evn if pinned seems to power out and still hit targets!

Sensational Player and one we haven't seen that plays quite like he does !! Sees ball goes at Ball and can kick a goal! Well done Clarry Choo Choo easily my favourite Demon at present!

I got shot down for suggesting we take this kid at pick #4 with majority of people wanting us to take Curnow

He's been super impressive. I was skeptical when we drafted him, but he has proved me wrong. He's become my favorite player! He reminds me so much of Michael Voss. Just so big and powerful, able to take the ball in a pack, have two guys hanging off him and still get his arms free and fire off a perfect handball to release a player. His strength and vision is something I can't remember seeing in a Melbourne player before. So excited by his first few games!

He's hit the scoreboard in a few matches too! If he can hit the scoreboard and get a bit more ball outside when we spread and link up he'll become the best player ever!

On behalf on DL Oli, we're sorry.

When you make comments like this Bitters you seem so boringly normal.

Its usually only after a good flogging tho, he can occasionally become somewhat delirious..

Fortunately the FD agreed with you olisik

That hit on Prestia sent him flying!

If you can find it, have a look at the highlights reel of the second half of his 2015 season. I only stumbled on it in the week leading up to the draft, but I suspect it contributed to cheers going up in quite a few living rooms on draft night.

Did you know - before this season there was only one player who drafted onto Melbourne's current list who has ever experienced a positive win/loss balance after 5 games or more?

So, guessing time. Who is that lucky player, now being joined by Clayton Oliver?

Jones?

Loved Oliver's game. He is like an industrial strength vacuum cleaner when the ball hits the deck, he just swoops and gathers one touch no fumbles ever then delivers with precision. Oh and he tackles to hurt. Recruiting team nailed this pick.

As good as Todd was and we all love him, Oliver's in a different class...

Starts with J

He is our clearance Clarence! Now all we need is a vector Victor ... :)

Maybe I need to remove the red and blue glasses, but I'm surprised he isn't getting hyped up more in the media. He's every bit as good as Cripps.

Well you got that one right. This kid is pure gold. I don't care what Parish does in the future, I love this kid. Plays like a 25 year old 150 game player.

imo his hands are the equal of any current day AFL player.  Bold statement I know, but I can't think of anyone cleaner.

The kid is a gun.

On 2 or 3 occasions in the last half, we were trying to clear the ball with continual pressure from the Suns defenders. Just when you think they finally locked it in, Clarry threads a friggin needle of a handpass and away we go.

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
