Felt the whole game the commentators were making comment as though there only people watching were Richmond supporters. As though it was all about Richmond and not us. Extremely happy we got over the top of them.

Pumped right now.

Viney, Gawn, Bernard....there are so many...awesome.

to those that jumped off the Paul Roos bandwagon, get back on. Believe and enjoy the ride!

Only heard it on the "internet radio" but what a great game.  To be honest it was a far better tigers outfit that last week, they pushed us but we responded all game which is brilliant.

Initial thoughts:

Umpires can go [censored] themselves with whatever black and yellow object they want. We won despite them.

Dom Tyson back to his best. Fantastic.

Gawn and Viney could both wim brownlow.

Alex Rance showed himself to be scum.

I love how our forward set up doesn't rely on Hogan. He doesn't carry it like we thought he'd have to, and I think this will make him a better player and more at ease in his wanting to belong to this team. Well done coaches.

Dees are here. You little [censored] ripper!!!

Thank you Paul Roos.

I agree, the umpiring today was shocking. Deplorable, hasn't been that bad since we beat Adelaide in Adelaide last year.

The streak has begun.

I know I've been a negative nancy but that was frustrating.

Still, a win is a win!

What's frustrating about a win like that? We did everything a good team needs to do. We answered the challenges and won going away.

C'mon!

Being a good side means being hated.

Happy with that.  If we can play like this all year we'll win more often than not.  The top teams will still have us, but we're right in the mix for the middle tier

I will say I think Viney has just made a spot in the side for Petracca next week.  I can see he and Rance both going for a week.

Everyone we have brought in is tough!  Bugg,  Kennedy, Hunt and Wagner are tough and hence composed and it makes such a difference.

We are a team that flies the flag and doesn't back down.  The demon has risen again and it is just [censored] fantastic!!

Another solid game from Hunt and Warner

Yes they really look the goods.

Gus Brayshaw is way off the pace, not sure why but I expect he will be replaced by Tracca or Oliver.

Go Dees

I asked this in the game day thread.

are you suggesting Viney gets a week for his initial reaction or something else?

Nice crowd too for a Sunday night game. Official crowd: 59,968 at the MCG

Good for the coffers and you think the AFL with think about making it permanent given its success over the first 2 games.

I fear you are right. Though how a deliberate foul act by Rance can be the same penalty as what Viney did, only the AFL and its stooges can say.

HARVEY WALLBANGER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Absent: Salem, Windsor (word is a foot rash going around), Viney, Bowey and Kentfield Train ons: Roy George, no Culley today. MATCH SIM: Friday 7th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Rehab: Jake Lever and Charlie Spargo running laps.  Lever was running short distances at a fast click as well as having kick to kick with a trainer. He seems unimpeded. Christian Petracca, Kade Chandler, Shane McAdam and Tom Fullarton doing non-contact kicking and handball drills on the adjacent oval.  All moving freely at pace.  I didn’

Demonland Trackwatchers were out in force as the Demons returned to Gosch's Paddock for preseason training on Wednesday morning. GHOSTWRITER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Kozzie a no show. Tommy Sparrow was here last week in civvies and wearing sunnies. He didn’t train. Today he’s training but he’s wearing goggles so he’s likely got an eye injury. THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
