He's referring to Paul Roos making excuses in last weeks presser. We already know David King hates Paul Roos.

Worst special comments man of all time

The way he over analyzes the game is just embarrassing

Just watched the first half on TV.  Viney, Gawn and Lamumba our best so far.  Salem also having an impact.  It's so much easier to see this stuff on a big screen.

Also six goals to North directly from frees so far.  I think one of them might have been a real free too.

The way HE analyses the game is pretty rudimentary but there needs to be more analysis in the media. At least he's having a go.

I don't mind him or it, he is never afraid to call it as it is and people sook up because they often don't like hearing the truth about their respective football clubs.

I'd like him more if he wore suits that actually fitted him

To be fair, from what I can tell 50% of the people here are blaming the umpires. So seems he was spot on. :P

I have read a few of your posts and I think you are simply trolling.

if it has " :P " then it is usually a joke, if it does not then usually I mean what i said. Besides although i said that in jest, you have to admit there are a few that seem to be a little too conserned by the umpires on the weekend, they didnt help but they didnt cost us i dont think.

I always thought he seemed terribly anti-Melbourne too, but maybe he's just objectively a good judge - after all, we have actually been pus for the best part of a decade. Could be a good sign!

First impressions are, more often than not, correct Nasher. Over the past few years Healy has never missed an opportunity to put the boots into us when we were at our lowest. If he drove past 4 blokes kicking the poo out of someone on the ground he would turn the car around and push his way to the front of the queue if the bloke in the foetal position was the MFC.

The only positive I take from his mild backtracking is that he can see fight in the prone body and he is trying to put some distance between him and his past behaviour.

Was that our ex captain you are referring to or his turn coat brother?

I'm not a huge fan of David King, but i kind of agree with him, some of the things i hate most about listening to Roosy speak are the willingness to shift the blame, the players are mentally scarred, the fans are mentally scarred, victim mentality, losing mentality is ingrained,

having said that he would have looked like a tool if we'd managed to snag one more goal and got over the line.

I gather he would have sent this around qtr time? He would have been framing up the week ahead, at the same time supporting his own argument about the Roos-Goodwin handover.

Rest assured he'll put this on the back burner for another week, waiting for a performance to support his claims.

Re-watching the game, still feel the same way about the umpiring.

The free kick against Gawn in the middle to Goldstein was one of the worst for the day for me.

I've seen two shockers in the first quarter.. Viney gets absolutely smashed, clear free kick and Kent comes in to get into Firrito about it, pushes him in the chest, he falls over, and the free is reversed.. even Firrito looked like he couldn't believe it.

If North copped what we did on Sunday, Scott would have gone through the glass in the Coaches box and then dump on the umpires in his Press Conference.

We remained very quiet on the issue.

Wait until you get to the Goldstein free in the ruck, 20 out, when he is behind Gawn and puts his hands on Gawn's neck and back. The commentators were dumbfounded, as was our Captain. Take just that free back and we win.

I've always wondered what happens there, can the club put in a complaint or something? the game was clearly decided by poor umpiring decisions.

They generally take it up with the Umpires' boss on a monday review and if they are lucky get an apology for all the wrong decisions.

Fat lot of good it does.

Could you imagine if we were one of the big boys, it would have been headline news.

He was even smart enough to give Ringwood Nissan a plug. If memory serves me correct it's definitely not the first time he's done this in the media for Nissan. Must have got a great deal for himself.

edit:

Funny that. Out of curiosity I looked up King's Twitter feed and found this...: -

Pumped to be on board as a Ringwood Nissan ambassador. Always terrific to be associated with marvellous people. Great wheels!

Yes RL I looked at that one a number of times and still cant work it out. Was is for blocking or something? There aren't that many rules in the game I can think of that penalize the man in front. Totally absurd decision.

It was for gawn holding his jumper at the front. At least thats what we deciphered from where we were sitting. I think he was just conserned it had been too long since he had blown his whistle

Then that shows what an ignorant DH he must be. Dees kicking against an 8 goal wind.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
