Ding - what are you still doing here? You can leave us with our pathetic club, it's ok. We don't need you. Your health is more important.

For the rest:

Footy does this sometimes. Don't confuse this week with last week.

Can we at least agree to ignore ding and not feed the troll?

lol yeah ignore the poster who is game to say it like it is..... MFC has so many sickening felchers its no wonder the likes of the drug cheats laugh at us.

We lost again. for the 16th time in a row to a team nobody thinks is a serious threat. Let that sink in..... 16 losses in a row to the pretenders Norf.........

A hack team who wont win a cup in the foreseeable future, in a so-called statement game.

I am starting to understand why so many supporters from other clubs laugh at you lot. We are rank.

Your problem to come to grips with, not mine.

*clap clap clap........

You seem like a really nice bloke Ding. Get to bed early though because year 9 really is a consolidation year.

Couldn't believe Watts takes the best contested mark of his career then for some inexplicable reason try's to pass it when he could have take a shot at goal.

WTF was he thinking.

Then north take it down the other end and score a goal. Big turn over and we really struggled after that IMO.

The big question now becomes whether we play like this next week.

If we slip back, at any point this year, to what we did against Essendon, I will be angry, and if it happens next week it will be that much worse.

Play like this next week and we win. Ditto the week after vs Richmond.

Was at the game, took my daughter for her first game, and after the first quarter I felt like it would be her last she would want to watch... Got lumped in amongst a block of north supporters, but strangely knowledgeable ones ;)

Second quarter was superb, no one has mentioned Vince but I thought he was one of our best players, especially in getting us going in along with Oliver and Viney out of the middle.

Harmes and Salem were good, Lumumba a lot better this week. Gawn had a great battle with Goldy

Whilst the Watts mistake was telling in the last, I thought Vandenbergs miss hurt more...no pressure. Watts had a pretty decent game.

Hogan was impressive, and I thought our forward structure enabled him space to lead up. Interesting to note he spent several minutes in the first and third as a lose man in defence as well as starting in the middle at the opening bounce.

Frost looked lost, missed a couple of marks he should have taken. Kent took time to get into the game, but was OK in the last.

Should have won the game, but we still seem to hesitate sometime in taking the first option, and pass off to another player which puts pressure onto that player...feels like there is a lack of instinct sometimes, or fear to take the game on, and yet we only just missed out on toppling a top four club on the road!

turnovers killed us again today.

Its so bloody frustrating then on top of it we miss goals at crucial times.

One positive is we need to bring this type of intensity week in week out.

Next week is a big test.

Gawn good, Viney ok. Oliver is our most effective midfielder, he is a game changer.

Oliver is a natural. Viney was ruthless and warrants more than an ok.

Out-coached in the last. Shocking to have only 9 interchangers left with 10 minutes left as you are running the game out with the wind. Their midfield got on top in a pivotal 10-minute period while we were stretching out our rotations.

Melbourne found a way to lose this. Umps were fairly balanced in the last. We lost poise and structure in the last quarter and seemed tired.

The game was there to be won but ultimately we tired ourselves out. Should have been fresher in the last but weren't even though North had a few banged up bodies.

We didn't do too well in the first 20 minutes of the game either.

Funny that, it seems that no regular poster here wants to accept the obvious truth. Feel free to bury your head in the sand though.

16 losses in a row. To Norf.

Nah its cool though coz we are gonna be great.................................................

Is it legal to get the media out to training on Monday and practise tackling a player who buckles at the knees or launches themselves forward?

Bet you any money that Norf practise sucking in umpires.

Nah, game was won and lost in the 3rd by No.15

Would have been 3 to 4 goals up going into the last with a whole lot less pressure and a fairly cruisy finish.

Our boys came back and came back hard. Matches are won and lost in tight quarters. The 3rd was a great arm wrestle by us and we would have won this match under "normal" match conditions without the blatant bias of the umpires (in this case mostly one umpire's influence).

The MFC needs to ask and demand answers from the AFL on that 3rd quarter. It was an unacceptable game changing/determining performance.  Time to earn your $$ PJ!!!

should mfc supporters be happy or angry having to watch great passages of play  & compete against a quality like North... Only to put up with garbage from the ESS game??

The test will be next week, which team will turn up?

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
